Notre Dame quarterback Riley Leonard continues to prove he is one of the best quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft cycle. Below we check out his 2024 season stats, mock draft projection, and much more.
Where Did Riley Leonard Project in Our 7-Round NFL Mock Draft?
Leonard was not drafted in the latest mock draft from Pro Football Network NFL Draft Analyst Ian Cummings. Despite his success in the NCAA, Leonard has yet to crack into the draft projections.
He could not follow up a strong sophomore campaign at Duke and transferred to Notre Dame for his senior season. While he improved this year after a down junior year, Leonard must continue to produce to hear his name called on draft weekend.
Potential NFL Landing Spots for Leonard
According to PFN’s updated NFL team needs, the following organizations should prioritize quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft. While teams won’t be investing high draft capital in acquiring Leonard, the following teams have the QB rooms, coordinators, and coaches that could open a door for the Golden Domer.
Leonard’s Scouting Report
PFN NFL Draft Analyst Cummings had this to say about the new QB1 for Notre Dame:
“Leonard’s down year at Duke in 2023 was a major step back, but he’ll have a chance to rebound with Notre Dame in 2024.
“Leonard’s Fighting Irish lost a few pieces on the offensive line, but he gained back a weapon in transfer Kris Mitchell, and he also has Mitchell Evans coming back from injury.
“Poise has been a big sticking point for Leonard as a prospect and is the root of many of his issues. If he can stay poised and deliver, it’ll be big for him.”
