Tuesday was a busy day for the Baltimore Ravens, as the team bolstered their running back room by acquiring former Tennessee Titans standout RB Derrick Henry on a two-year contract.
With the addition of Henry, what does the Ravens’ depth chart currently look like at the running back position?
Ravens RB Depth Chart After Derrick Henry Signing
After agreeing to terms with Henry on a two-year, $16 million deal on Tuesday, the expectation is that the former Titans RB will be the lead back for Baltimore this season.
Although Henry is 30 years old, he is coming off an uber-productive season on a poor Titans offense. In 2023, he finished with 1,167 rushing yards on 4.2 yards per carry and 12 touchdowns. Expect Henry to have an even more productive season in a far more dynamic Ravens offense surrounded by far more weapons.
Behind Henry on the depth chart will be second-year RB Keaton Mitchell. Although his 2023 season ended with a torn ACL injury in Week 15, Mitchell showed a lot of flashes during his rookie campaign. On 47 carries, Mitchell averaged a staggering 8.4 yards per attempt, showcasing a ton of explosiveness at the position.
After Mitchell, the next running back on the depth chart is veteran Justice Hill. A fourth-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, Hill has played his entire career with the Ravens. Hill had a career high in touches last season due to the injuries the Ravens sustained at the running back position. But if Henry and Mitchell are healthy, he’s third on the depth chart.
The fourth running back currently on the active roster is Owen Wright — an undrafted free agent in the 2023 NFL Draft.

The Ravens finished the 2023 season with the league’s most productive rushing offense, and by a considerable margin. Their 2,661 rushing yards for the season were 262 more than the next-best team in the Chicago Bears. QB Lamar Jackson, however, was responsible for nearly 31% of their rushing yardage, so the massive addition of Henry should give them an even more dangerous ground attack.
