The Baltimore Ravens offense showcased a vastly improved passing attack throughout the majority of the 2023 NFL season, but it didn’t necessarily equate to fantasy football success for all of the pass catchers on the roster.
After three years of disappointing production, how should dynasty managers value WR Rashod Bateman heading into his fourth year in the NFL?
Rashod Bateman’s Dynasty Outlook
The expectations for Bateman entering the NFL out of the University of Minnesota were fairly high when he was selected in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
As dynasty fantasy football begins to ramp up, should there be considerations about trading Garrett Wilson, Terry McLaurin, or Rashod Bateman? https://t.co/9pzLITrZzy

Unfortunately, his fantasy finishes in PPR formats through the first three seasons tell a pretty disappointing story.
2023: WR85
2022: WR112
2021: WR69
He has failed to truly break out in three consecutive years and hasn’t topped 50 receptions or 600 yards receiving in any season, making his current dynasty value very low at the moment.
Bateman is still just 24 years old and is under contract with the Ravens through 2024, but there simply haven’t been very many reasons to get excited about a big season on the horizon.
Mark Andrews will still be heavily involved, Zay Flowers has clearly emerged as Lamar Jackson’s go-to wideout after garnering 108 targets as a rookie, and the Ravens still averaged just 29 passing attempts per game in 2023 — which ranked 31st in the league.
Bateman still possesses a healthy amount of talent, which does leave some room for optimism heading into 2024, but historical data isn’t exactly kind to receivers breaking out after three years of middling production.
On a positive note, Bateman is coming off of the healthiest year of his NFL career, playing in 16 games in 2023. However, his 32 receptions for 367 yards and one score during an MVP year from Jackson with Andrews out of the lineup for a lengthy period of time make it difficult to project a breakout season in 2024.

Should You Trade Bateman in Dynasty?
Are you considering trading Bateman? Our free PFN Trade Analyzer allows you to find the best trade offer to make in seconds!
The good thing for Bateman truthers interested in acquiring the talented wideout is that his dynasty value is at an all-time low after a lackluster 2023 campaign.
It would definitely be in the realm of possibility to get Bateman for a third-round rookie pick in upcoming dynasty drafts.

On the flip side, if you once invested a late-round first to select Bateman back in 2021, there is no shot you have any chance at getting that type of haul back in return for him at this time.
If I am a shareholder of Bateman, he’s probably a better hold than a sell as an asset at this very moment.
