New Orleans Saints WR Rashid Shaheed started 2023 off with a bang, finishing Week 1 as the WR11 with 89 yards receiving and a TD. The next four weeks were nowhere near as efficient, as he didn’t finish any better than the WR52. Today, in a loss against Houston, Shaheed seemed to bounce back, finishing with 85 receiving yards, 18 yards on the ground, and one TD.
Shaheed ran the third-most routes of the team on Sunday, just behind Michael Thomas and Chris Olave, and the New Orleans offense is starting to look like it could support three fantasy-relevant pass catchers.

Should Rashid Shaheed Be a Fantasy Waiver Wire Add in Week 7?
In a normal offense, I would suggest targeting Shaheed without question on the waiver wire — he is averaging a 14% target share and could be considered as a Flex start in deeper leagues, especially in leagues where you start three WRs.

However, New Orleans has a wild card named Taysom Hill, who you always have to keep in the back of your head when you target weapons to pick up and start. Hill easily has games where he becomes the WR3, and when that happens, Shaheed becomes nothing more than an afterthought.

Although Shaheed ran a good amount of routes, he only had six targets on Sunday. There were four starters that had a higher target share. I would not rush to pick up Shaheed this week; he is currently 32% rostered in Yahoo leagues, and I believe his ownership will not skyrocket this week as most managers will be targeting QBs and RBs.
Keep an eye on Shaheed to see if those targets stay at this week’s level. If you see a second week with 5-6 targets, he would be a player to look at on the waiver wire moving forward, but he is not quite there yet, especially on a team that leans so heavily on their solid defense.
