Rashee Rice is still on the mend after a surgery on his LCL knocked him out for the entirety of the 2024 NFL season after just four games, but the Kansas City Chiefs receiver is staying apprised of all the biggest stories around the league.
With free agency set to begin in just a few days — and with the 2025 NFL Draft on the horizon — the wideout shared some notable predictions for one of college football’s most discussed athletes.

Rashee Rice Links Las Vegas Raiders, New York Giants To Shedeur Sanders
Appearing on the latest episode of “I Am Athlete”, Rice spoke about several prospects in this year’s draft class. When the conversation turned to Sanders, the Chiefs’ wideout offered up some feasible destinations for the former Buffaloes star.
First, Rice was asked where he wanted to see Sanders end up. After responding with a quick “I don’t know”, Rice suggested: “Where he might play, though? I could see him going to New York or the Raiders.”
The Raiders have been linked to Sanders ad nauseam since the conclusion of the Super Bowl, and with the increasing belief that Cam Ward will be the first overall pick in this year’s draft, it’s possible that Las Vegas’s only chance to find its quarterback of the future will come in the form of the Colorado product.
The Raiders likely won’t head into next season with Aidan O’Connell as the only option at quarterback on the roster. With Gardner Minshew now released, it’s reasonable to expect the franchise to target some competition for the third-year incumbent, be it a veteran with ties to head coach Pete Carroll or a top QB prospect.
If Sanders doesn’t make it to the Raiders at No. 6 in the draft, it’s possible that the New York Giants would be responsible.
The Giants are desperately in need of a franchise quarterback after spending six seasons hoping Daniel Jones could fill Eli Manning’s shoes. The upcoming free-agent class of signal callers looks weak, and it’s exceedingly rare that talented field generals hit the trade block anywhere near their respective primes.
With the No. 3 pick (and potentially looking to trade up), the Giants could be a perfect destination for Sanders, especially if Ward and one of Travis Hunter or Abdul Carter get selected before Big Blue is on the clock.
Alternatively, Rice’s response of “New York” could also be referring to the New York Jets, who similarly need a quarterback after Aaron Rodgers’ defection. With the No. 7 pick in the draft, though, it’s highly unlikely that Sanders would make it past both the Raiders and Giants to fall into Gang Green’s lap.
Regardless of which team ends up selecting Sanders, Rice appears to be right on the money with his prediction for the quarterback. Perhaps a career as a draft analyst awaits him after his playing days?
