This is one of the most cool and original nicknames we’ve ever heard. Asuka being off TV for a while might make some fans forget, but the Empress of Tomorrow is such a fitting nickname for a very unique talent.
One of, if not the youngest superstars in WWE, Roxanne Perez was thrust into the main event scene at NXT at a very young age. Still just 23 years old and now on the main roster, Perez truly is a Prodigy in every sense of the term.
One of the most recognizable names not only in wrestling history, but in the world today, The Rock invented a new gimmick for last year’s Wrestlemania program with Cody Rhodes, calling himself The Final Boss. He completely leaned into it, which, combined with its novelty, makes it one of the best nicknames in wrestling today.
Yeah. It’s all three for Randy Orton. One of the greatest superstars of all time, Orton has had all three nicknames for most of his career and they’re all excellent, accurately describing why Orton is so feared in the ring.
Admittedly, Jacob Fatu’s mannerisms contribute to the quality of the nickname. He really does look like a werewolf in the ring. The combination of the ode to his Samoan heritage and a description of what he’s like in the ring makes this a very appropriate and awesome nickname.
It’s great that WWE went back to calling a heel Drew McIntyre the Scottish Psychopath. The watered down “Scottish Warrior” nickname never felt natural. McIntyre’s current gimmick is that of a psychopath, which helps make the nickname even cooler.
The current most over guy in the company, Jey Uso went from Roman Reigns’ “Right Hand Man” to calling himself “Main Event Jey Uso” long before he actually became a main event talent. Jey essentially willed it into existence, which helps make it one of the best and most fitting nicknames today.
Initially debuting as the Irish Lass Kicker, Becky Lynch has had a number of nicknames over the years, most of which were very good. But it’s her “The Man” moniker that stands above the rest. The irony of Lynch being a woman who calls herself “The Man” is great, but as a reminder, Lynch rose to prominence during the women’s revolution, when they went from divas primarily featured for their looks to legitimate main event talents.
Give the man his due. Not only is the American Nightmare a cool name by itself, the simultaneous homage to his father, the American Dream Dusty Rhodes, while putting his own spin on it, makes Cody Rhodes’ nickname one of the best in WWE right now.
One of WWE’s newest signings and perhaps not as well known because she resides at NXT, Giulia is one of the most unique superstars on the roster. The Beautiful Madness is incredibly original and perfectly encapsulates Giulia as a wrestler.
