Free agent NFL wide receiver Randall Cobb avoided a fiery disaster with his family Tuesday night, surviving a family house fire that his wife stated started from a Tesla charger.
Cobb’s wife, Aiyda, took to her Instagram Stories to announce to her followers and Cobb’s fans that they’re OK after a fire erupted inside their home.
“We are lucky to be alive,” she began in her post.
She then described the harrowing details of what she, Cobb, and her family witnessed.
“The Tesla charger caught on fire in the garage late last night and quickly spread,” she wrote in her caption. “We got out of the house with nothing but the clothes on our back and no shoes on our feet. I’ll explain more later, but posting this in case I miss any appts, calls, texts, meetings. Thank you GOD.”
The couple share three sons, Cade, Caspian, and Chance, all of whom had to escape with their parents. Aiyda Cobb included an image of the destruction inside their house.

Cobb remains unsigned ahead of 2024 training camps, which begin the week of July 25.
He was last seen briefly reunited with former Green Bay Packers teammate Aaron Rodgers with the New York Jets. Cobb managed only five catches for 39 yards and one touchdown in 2023.
Cobb is best known for two stints with the Packers. He first spent 2011-18 there, which includes his lone Pro Bowl campaign in 2014 when he snatched 91 catches for 1,287 yards and 12 touchdowns — all career-best marks.
Cobb then had brief stops with the Houston Texans (2019), followed by the Dallas Cowboys (2020) before making his return to Wisconsin. Cobb has caught 532 of his career 630 grabs with Green Bay. He’s tallied 7,624 receiving yards and scored 54 touchdowns in his 13-season career.
