We expected the NFC West to be a high-competitive battle between three teams but the race has been flipped upside down. Neither the Los Angeles Rams nor the Arizona Cardinals are good teams halfway through the 2022 NFL season. We’re diving into the best player prop bets for their second matchup, including DeAndre Hopkins.
We’re covering all sports betting aspects of this matchup, with lines courtesy of our friends at FanDuel Sportsbook. On top of grabbing these Rams and Cardinals player prop bets, I highly recommend grabbing your no-sweat first bet for Week 10 while you can.
Top Rams vs. Cardinals Player Props To Target
We’re using every tool at our disposal to make sharp prop bets for this NFC West matchup, including fantasy averages, player trends, and the best vig. Let’s dive into the best prop bets you can target.
DeAndre Hopkins Player Props: Anytime TD (+115)
We’re unsure of whether Kyler Murray will play in Week 10 as he’s a game-time decision with his hamstring injury, and this has limited the props available to us. The Cardinals only have touchdown props listed. And if we’re going to take anyone to score a touchdown with Colt McCoy possibly starting, it has to be Hopkins.
Hopkins has been simply phenomenal since returning from his suspension. He already has 26 receptions, 298 yards, and two touchdowns in three games played. There’s no question he’s back on the list of elite receivers despite the concern about his efficiency decreasing in 2021.
Hopkins will be battling with Jalen Ramsey and a talented Rams secondary. In six games against the Rams throughout his career, Hopkins has only averaged 61 yards and 0.2 touchdowns per game, one of his lowest marks against any team. The Rams have seen slipping within their defense as the offense continues to crumble, though, meaning Hopkins could be a massive value regardless of whether Murray plays or not.
It’s also worth noting is a $5 bet on the over of Hopkins’ receiving total would win $200 on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Matt Gay Player Props: Under 2.5 PATs (-160)
With Matthew Stafford in concussion protocol and potentially not playing, the John Wolford show does not sound appealing. I refuse to bet on any Rams playmaker to score without juiced odds, regardless of whether Stafford is active.
Stafford has been so inefficient and unable to make anything happen that I could see Wolford being a slight upgrade on the veteran.
Since there’s not a rushing or receiving prop bet available for anyone besides the touchdown scorer options, I’m looking at special teams. I think taking Matt Gay’s prop bets is the smartest option. The under on his 2.5 PATs might be the best bet of the entire day.
Gay has attempted three or more PATs only twice all season. The Rams’ offense is broken thanks to abhorrent offensive line play and a declining Stafford. Even if a healthy Wolford plays, Arizona should be able to limit their scoring opportunities with relative ease.
Cardinals D/ST Player Props: Anytime Touchdown (+700)
With 15 interceptions in his last 14 games, betting on Stafford to throw an interception has been wonderfully profitable for us over the last year. He’s handed the ball to defenders at an alarmingly high rate. I’d actually rather see Stafford on the field for this Cardinals’ defense or special teams touchdown prop bet to have a better chance of hitting.
If Wolford plays, I’d expect him to be conservative with the ball and to eat several sacks. This could be positive as well. A strip sack by J.J. Watt or Budda Baker could lead to a scoop-and-score.
This is always a longshot play, but it’s worthwhile since the Rams’ offense is a shell of itself.
