‘It’s His Fault’ – Raiders Fans Vent Frustration Over Maxx Crosby’s Negative Comments About the State of the Las Vegas Raiders

    Published on

After Maxx Crosby dragged the franchise through the mud, the Las Vegas Raiders fan base brutally gave him a reality check.

The Maxx Crosby saga has quickly become one of the more intriguing storylines to monitor in the coming months. What once felt like a lifelong Raider now feels like a trade inevitability. While the rumors began midway through the year, they saw even more traction once Crosby went down with an injury.

As he recovers, Crosby’s comments and social media activity indicate that everything might not be well in Las Vegas. Whether it’s cryptic “KC” tweets or showering the Kansas City Chiefs with compliments, he’s done nothing to quell those rumors. But it was Crosby’s comments criticizing the Las Vegas Raiders’ performance since he joined the team that rubbed fans the wrong way.

Fans Rip Into Maxx Crosby for Las Vegas Comments

After hyping up the Chiefs on his podcast, “The Rush With Maxx Crosby,” as the dynasty and the “team to beat in the AFC,” Crosby shifted his attention to the Raiders.

To him, the team’s inconsistency was undeniable. Whether it was performance, players, or coaches, the team was in constant flux.

“Years of inconsistency, you know what I mean? It’s new coaches every year…There’s been plenty of times when I’ve been like, ‘Damn, this d-line is cold, and then I come back, and every single one of them is gone, like, what the f***?’ It’s just on and on, there’s a lot of things,” Crosby said. “It’s tough, bro.”

Unfortunately, his comments didn’t sit well with the fan base. For them, Crosby was instrumental in landing Antonio Pierce the head coaching gig with the Raiders. Now, his comments seemingly dragging the decision isn’t going over well.

But the control Crosby had over the team went way beyond that. In trying to keep true to his word, he was a pseudo-general manager, according to offseason rumors, influencing personnel decisions up and down the roster.

For some fans, the loss of this season was on him.

“We had this season, thanks to the fact that he wanted to play the general manager…,” tweeted one fan.

Giving Crosby some credit, however, he did stay true to his word on the podcast. Even though Pierce wasn’t fabulous in Year 1, he pushed for him to stick around. Unfortunately, it didn’t turn out the way Crosby was envisioning it to go.

“Maxx Crosby got what he wanted (Antonio Pierce and some form of stability with keeping the same head coach), but it’s not what he envisioned it to be. It is what it is. We’ll see how those talks go. Raiders offseason will have plenty of storylines,” said analyst Moe Moton.

Others put the entirety of the blame for Pierce on Crosby’s shoulders. And, given his unrest and constant injury history, other fans went the nasty route, calling out Crosby’s unavailability year after year.

For them, finding a more consistent name like T.J. Watt, Myles Garrett, Micah Parsons, or even one of the Bosa brothers was a much better bet.

While the fans have been quick to turn their backs on Crosby amidst the rumors, the defensive lineman did make it a point to send them a lot of love.

“I will say that the Raiders fans have been dope… I love ’em to death. That’s one thing, like, through everything the fans have since Day 1 truly embraced me in being in their corner, and I think it’s been the dopest s***,” Crosby said.

“Even with my injuries, the support has been like the coolest s*** ever. And so, there’s so many different things that got to be talked about, and so, it’s gonna be interesting. I’m looking forward to it.”
