QB Waiver Wire and Streamers: Week 18 Targets Include Drew Lock, Bryce Young, and Others

    Published on

Heading into Week 18, here are the top waiver wire targets and streamers at quarterback that you should consider adding to your fantasy football lineups.

Entering Week 18, let’s take a look at the top quarterbacks to target on the waiver wire in your fantasy football league. All players listed below are rostered in less than 50% of Yahoo, ESPN, and/or Sleeper leagues.

Note that I have eliminated FAAB recommendations this year, as there are too many variables to account for. Instead, I replaced them with my opinion on how aggressive fantasy managers should be in pursuing the player on a scale of 1-10.

Looking for other players? Check out our Week 18 Waiver Wire article, which covers a plethora of players from all positions.

    Russell Wilson, QB | PIT

    Rostered: 44%

Russell Wilson’s best game of the season came in Week 13 against the Cincinnati Bengals. The Steelers QB threw for 414 yards and three touchdowns, scoring 27.86 fantasy points.

With the AFC North still in play, the Pittsburgh Steelers will be trying this week. They have every incentive to defeat the Bengals and force the Baltimore Ravens to win to take the division. The Bengals allow the fifth-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks.

    Geno Smith, QB | SEA

    Rostered: 54%

If you watched Geno Smith last Thursday night, it was ugly. The Seattle Seahawks and Chicago Bears combined for no touchdowns. There was not a single point scored in the second half.

We need to throw that game out. Smith is a nice option this week against a Los Angeles Rams defense he torched for 363 yards and three touchdowns (albeit with three interceptions) back in Week 9.

    Bryce Young, QB | CAR

    Rostered: 17%

Even amid a blowout, Bryce Young still managed to throw for 203 yards and two touchdowns. Young has now thrown at least one touchdown in every game since Week 8. He has two multi-TD games in his last three.

The Carolina Panthers get the Atlanta Falcons on the road in Week 18. That’s another projected negative-game-script situation for the Panthers, likely resulting in passing volume for Young. He could be viable.

    Drew Lock, QB | NYG

    Rostered: 3%

Did you have Drew Lock scoring over 40 fantasy points on your Week 17 bingo card? The New York Giants get the Eagles in Week 18 and the Philadelphia Eagles have nothing to play for, being locked into the No. 2 seed. The Eagles are likely to rest defensive starters, which should create an opportunity for Lock to play a glorified exhibition game. Maybe he can do half of what he did in Week 17.
