Pro Bowl Voting 2022: Who received the most Pro Bowl votes?

Let's take a look back at the 2022 Pro Bowl voting results and see which players were the top vote-getters in their respective conferences.

With voting complete, the NFL announced the 2022 Pro Bowl rosters last week. While obviously not everyone voted in will end up playing, it’s still fun to look at the final results and see which players received the most votes.

    2022 Pro Bowl Voting

The fan vote is weighted as one-third of the overall consideration for which players are selected to their respective Pro Bowl rosters.

Let’s break it down by conference and check out the top vote-getters.

    AFC Pro Bowl Voting 2022

Here are the voting leaders for the AFC Pro Bowl roster.

    Jonathan Taylor, RB, Indianapolis Colts

With 265,370 votes, Jonathan Taylor led all players in Pro Bowl voting. This season, Taylor led the league in rushing with 1,811 yards on 332 carries, yards from scrimmage with 2,171, and total touchdowns with 20. He staked his claim to being the best running back in football and deserved his spot as the top vote-getter.

Travis Kelce, TE, Kansas City Chiefs

With 262,540 votes, Travis Kelce finished second in AFC Pro Bowl voting. This marks the seventh time he’s been selected to the Pro Bowl. Kelce caught 92 passes for 1,125 yards and 9 touchdowns. He has completely dominated the tight end position for the past six years, posting six consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons.

    T.J. Watt, LB, Pittsburgh Steelers

As the only defensive player in the top five in AFC Pro Bowl voting, T.J. Watt certainly earned his spot. Watt received 237,047 votes, third in the conference. He led the league in sacks for the second straight year, tying Michael Strahan’s single-season record with 22.5. Watt also led the NFL in tackles for loss with 21. Thus, it is not surprising this is Watt’s fourth consecutive Pro Bowl.

Justin Herbert, QB, Los Angeles Chargers

With 213,904 votes, Justin Herbert was fourth in the AFC in Pro Bowl voting and the second-highest amongst quarterbacks overall. While Herbert is undoubtedly a top-10 quarterback, sometimes Pro Bowl voting is more about popularity than performance. With that said, Herbert did throw for 5,014 yards and 38 touchdowns, so he’s very much deserving of a spot on the AFC’s Pro Bowl roster.

    Ja’Marr Chase, WR, Cincinnati Bengals

With 202,141 votes, Ja’Marr Chase was the highest vote-getter amongst rookies and the second-highest amongst wide receivers in the NFL. Chase is all but certain to win Rookie of the Year honors after recording 81 receptions for 1,455 yards and 13 touchdowns in his debut season.

Chase is the real deal and will be an elite WR1 in the NFL for the next decade. He is very much deserving of earning a Pro Bowl spot in his rookie year, but he won’t be playing in the game — he’s got one slightly more important contest the following week.

    NFC Pro Bowl Voting 2022

Here are the voting leaders for the NFC Pro Bowl roster.

Nick Bosa, DE, San Francisco 49ers

The NFC’s leading vote-getter trailed Taylor by less than 1,000 votes. Nick Bosa led the NFC with 264,687 votes. He recorded 15.5 sacks (which coincidentally was the same number Watt had in 2020 that led the NFL) and tied Watt with a league-leading 21 tackles for loss. This is Bosa’s second Pro Bowl selection in three seasons.

Kyle Juszczyk, FB, San Francisco 49ers

It’s a pair of 49ers atop the NFC Pro Bowl voting. Kyle Juszczyk is second with 242,900 votes. He’s one of only a handful of fullbacks remaining in the NFL. Juszczyk is a jack-of-all-trades player. He’ll take a handful of carries and catch a ball or two a game. He makes most of his time on special teams and as a blocker. Not every Pro Bowler has to be a flashy big-name star. Sometimes, it’s the guys that do the little things. This is Juszczyk’s sixth consecutive Pro Bowl selection.

    Trevon Diggs, CB, Dallas Cowboys

Trevon Diggs was a polarizing player this season. He was, for lack of a better term, a gambler. Diggs tried to make plays. It’s how he wound up leading the NFL with 11 interceptions and two pick-sixes. Those electric plays netted him 242,900 votes, tied with Juszczyk for second in the NFC. His failed gambles are why he allowed 10.7 yards per target to receivers. Either way, Diggs is a playmaker and the good outweighed the bad. He’s deserving of his first Pro Bowl selection.

Tom Brady, QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tom Brady finished fourth in the NFC with 237,468 votes. What really needs to be said? He’s Brady. The G.O.A.T. maybe retired last week but didn’t actually retire and will probably end up retiring anyway. At 44 years old, Brady led the NFL in pass attempts (719), completions (485), yards (5,316), and touchdowns (43). Somehow, this is Brady’s first Pro Bowl selection since 2018 (his 15th total).

Davante Adams, WR, Green Bay Packers

Aaron Rodgers’ WR1, Davante Adams, finished fifth in NFC Pro Bowl voting but first amongst wide receivers with 234,600 votes. He posted career-high marks in targets (169), receptions (123), and yards (1,553). This is the fifth consecutive Pro Bowl selection for arguably the best wide receiver in football.
