2023 NFL Preseason Week 2 Schedule: How To Watch Sunday’s NFL Games, Start Times, TV Channels, and More

Are there any NFL games today? Here's a look at the Sunday schedule for Week 2 of the 2023 NFL preseason, including start times and channels.

After a jam-packed Saturday, the NFL action slows down quite a bit Sunday night. So who plays in NFL games today, and when will they be on? Here’s everything needed to watch the Week 2 preseason Sunday Night Football, including the matchup, start time, and channel.

Are There Any NFL Games Today?

There’s only one NFL game today as the first of two Sunday Night Football games this preseason kicks off between the New Orleans Saints and Los Angeles Chargers. While the game is scheduled, there could be an issue.

Hurricane Hilary is bearing down on Southern California and could complicate the start of the game. The NFL is monitoring the situation and currently has no plans to cancel.

    • Start time: 7:05 p.m. ET
    • Channel: NFL Network

Unless we see an astronomical amount of ties in Week 2 of the preseason, one of these squads will suffer their first preseason loss. The Saints emerged from a Week 1 clash against the Kansas City Chiefs as victors, winning 26-24 with a field goal as time expired. The Chargers had a much easier time, trouncing the Rams 34-17. Who has the edge this week?

While New Orleans head coach Dennis Allen didn’t give specifics, he said all available starters would not play tonight. Like many teams this past week, the Saints and Chargers participated in two joint practices in Costa Mesa.

Many coaching staffs around the league find the joint practices more beneficial than forced preseason snaps, and the Saints are no exception. However, expect newly signed LB Jaylon Smith to see some playing time after missing the preseason opener against Kansas City.

HC Brandon Staley and the Chargers also haven’t given much information about who will play in Sunday night’s game. QBs Easton Stick and Max Duggan split snaps between the first and second halves last week.

However, Duggan received a massive boost from undrafted rookie RB Elijah Dotson who turned six carries into 92 yards and two touchdowns. Will Dotson secure a spot on the roster in a crowded RB room?
