Postponed Monday Night Football Tonight, Week 13 | Steelers vs Washington Game Preview

The Steelers vs Washington game was originally scheduled for Sunday. However, a number of postponements to the Steelers’ Week 12 game has led to the game being pushed back to Monday.

    Steelers continue dominance?

The Steelers are the NFL’s only undefeated team. Their defense is arguably the best in the league, holding opponents to just 17.1 points per game. But, they aren’t the only elite defense playing. Washington is allowing the second least passing yards per game and the second-most sacks in the NFL; as a result, Washington is allowing just 22.1 points per game.

That said, the change in the Monday night football schedule has the Steelers playing on five days rest compared to Washington’s 12 days. That’s something to watch leading up to this game, as fatigue could play a major factor.

This game will likely come down to which offense is able to get going first. The Steelers have gotten consistent explosive plays on offense this year, whether that’s come from James Conner, Juju Smith-Schuster, Chase Claypool, or Eric Ebron. They have been able to score consistently. The man behind that offense is Super Bowl-winning quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Put it all together, and the Steelers are averaging 28.8 points per game, sixth-best in the NFL.

Could Washington Football Team play spoiler?

Washington hasn’t found the same success on offense. They’ve struggled at the quarterback position all year, though Alex Smith has provided some late-season stability. Washington put up 41 points last week behind big days from McLaurin and Gibson. If those guys can get going again, this game gets a lot more interesting.

Still, the Steelers hold a clear advantage here. They’ve consistently been the best team on the field this year. Don’t expect that change tonight.
