A police call sheet obtained by the Dallas Morning News confirmed that officials are searching for Rice in connection with the crash. Police have not disclosed details of the accident or whether anyone was injured, according to the report.

His alleged involvement in the crash is currently unclear.

A WFAA report stated that “at least one person is in the hospital” as a result of the accident, and multiple cars were involved.

According to ESPN, Rice did not appear in Dallas County jail records as of 7 a.m. ET on Sunday. It was not immediately clear if he is suspected of any charges.

In an update from Ari Meirov, “Dallas police say two drivers in a Corvette and Lamborghini were racing when they both lost control of their vehicles and crashed, causing a 6-vehicle accident…The suspected Corvette driver is #Chiefs WR Rashee Rice.

“Both drivers ran from the crash without stopping.”

Rice’s lawyer, Royce West, released a statement on Monday afternoon: “On behalf of Rashee Rice, his thoughts are with everyone impacted by the automobile accident on Saturday. Rashee is cooperating with local authorities and will take all necessary steps to address this situation responsibly.”

Rice grew up in North Richland Hills and attended Richland High School, where he was a three-star recruit before committing to SMU. He then became one of the most successful wide receivers in Mustangs history and was fifth all-time in yards among SMU receivers.

In 2023, Rice was a second-round pick by Kansas City and has found great success with the Super Bowl champion Chiefs.

Last season, Rice finished second on the team in receptions (79) and receiving yards (938) behind only Travis Kelce and led the team with seven touchdown catches. He also had 26 catches for 262 yards and a touchdown during the Chiefs’ four-game postseason run en route to their second straight Super Bowl championship.

In the Chiefs’ overtime win over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII, Rice caught six passes for 39 yards to help lead Kansas City to the title.
