The Philadelphia Eagles have been one of the more consistent teams in the NFL over the last few seasons. After making the Super Bowl two years ago, they returned and won it this season. But a big reason for their success has been their ability and willingness to improve.
Every offseason, the Eagles are consistently tweaking their roster to unlock a new edge. Last year, it was famously Saquon Barkley who set rushing records this season, and for this offseason, it could be an additional weapon for Jalen Hurts to throw the ball to.

Jalen Hurts Predicted To Get New Weapon
A lot of the Eagles’ success last season came as a result of their incredible defensive unit. Throughout the year, they were a top-five defense in the league and finished second on PFSN’s Defense+ metric.
However, it was the offensive end where they struggled, despite the history-making season from Barkley. They ranked 14th for the season on PFSN’s Offense+ metric despite the abundance of talent on that end.
But, in Super Bowl 59, fans got a glimpse of what an Eagles offense firing on all cylinders could look like. They dropped 40 on a dominant Kansas City Chiefs team, and Hurts took home the Super Bowl MVP honors. As a result, improving the weapons around him needs to be a priority for the front office.
And CBS Sports has a name in mind to make that happen. According to them, former first-round pick Kyle Pitts is the perfect player to have a revival with the defending Super Bowl Champions. They would still prefer Atlanta to keep him around.
“A running joke in Atlanta due to his relative lack of usage since a 1,000-yard debut in 2021, the former first-round pick is precisely the kind of building block the Falcons should probably be retaining and maximizing, given Pitts is still just 24 with a wide receiver’s skill set.”
There isn’t a guarantee that the team will wait around for that long. “But if they don’t have major long-term plans for the tight end, now would be the time to collect offers, ahead of his 2025 contract season. Imagine a contender like the Eagles making a luxury upgrade at the position by pursuing his upside.”
Dallas Goedert already showed, especially during their postseason run, that Philly can thrive with an elite tight end on the field. Pitts hasn’t been that in quite some time. But the potential is still there, and the Eagles could be the team to finally bring it out of him.
