While the 2022 season was a year of success and celebration, the 2023 campaign ended with frustration and confusion. Nick Sirianni and the Philadelphia Eagles coaches watched a 10-1 start to the season turn into a 1-5 finish and a 32-9 Super Wild Card Round loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
While Sirianni returns for his fourth year as head coach of the Eagles, Philadelphia announced nine new coaches in the 2024 offseason. Will these changes on offense and defense be enough to get QB Jalen Hurts and the Eagles back to the Super Bowl? Here’s a look at the Philadelphia Eagles coaches.

New Additions to the Philadelphia Eagles’ Coaching Staff
With questions about the 1-5 skid to end the season and loss to QB Baker Mayfield in the first round of the 2024 postseason, Sirianni and the Eagles parted ways with offensive coordinator Brian Johnson and defensive coordinator Sean Desai. With two high-profile coaching positions turning over, the rest of the staff also saw some changes.
The Eagles tabbed Kellen Moore as offensive coordinator. Moore spent four years in Dallas as an offensive assistant and coordinator before becoming the Los Angeles Chargers offensive coordinator for the 2023 season. Moore is expected to be the offensive playcaller for Philadelphia, taking some responsibilities off of Sirianni’s plate.
During his time with Dallas, the Cowboys’ offense averaged the second-most points per game in the league (27.7) while also being second in total offense (391 net yards per game). While the season with the Chargers was rough, Moore weathered many injuries, including his quarterback, Justin Herbert, who missed four games.
Moore brings quarterbacks coach Doug Nussmeier with him. Nussmeier has served under Moore in Dallas and Los Angeles. He has been a coach for over two decades on the collegiate and professional levels, with nine seasons in the NFL. He will work with Jalen Hurts to help solve some issues plaguing Philadelphia’s offense last season.
While Moore looks to return the offense to its 2022 success, a familiar face takes over responsibilities on the defensive side. After spending the 2023 season with the Miami Dolphins, Vic Fangio returns to Philadelphia as the defensive coordinator. This is Fangio’s second stint with the Eagles after serving as a consultant in 2022 during Philadelphia’s Super Bowl run.
A coach for over 40 years, Fangio started in the NFL with the New Orleans Saints as a linebackers coach in 1986. Since then, he has been a defensive coordinator for seven different NFL franchises and was head coach of the Denver Broncos from 2019 to 2021. Fangio brings in a ton of changes to the defensive staff.

Christian Parker, who worked under Fangio during his last year as Denver’s head coach, will serve as Philadelphia’s defensive passing game coordinator and defensive backs coach. Parker is credited for helping develop Broncos All-Pro CB Patrick Surtain II and All-Pro safety Justin Simmons.
Parker also has two new position coaches under him. Cornerbacks coach Roy Anderson has been coaching defensive backs for over 15 seasons in the NFL. Meanwhile, safeties coach Joe Kasper follows Fangio from Miami for his second stint with the Eagles.
