Patriots QB Drake Maye Candidly Reveals the 3 Pro Bowl Receivers He Wants To Play With in New England

New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye did some scouting and recruiting for the Pats when he was at the Pro Bowl in Orlando.

New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, fresh off getting engaged to his longtime girlfriend, is registering for wide receivers on his gift list. He has put together a dream list of three Pro Bowl wide receivers he would like to throw to in New England.

He would like to have the opportunity to throw to Ja’Marr Chase of the Cincinnati Bengals, Nico Collins of the Houston Texans, and Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings.

Drake Maye Compiles His Wide Receiver Wish List

Maye, who appeared on the “Up & Adams” podcast on Feb. 4, gave a detailed description of the players he wants to recruit to Foxboro once the players are eligible to move in free agency.

He said he enjoyed throwing to Chase in the Pro Bowl flag football game in Orlando and would welcome the opportunity to do so in a Patriots uniform if the situation ever presented itself.

“Yeah, I think Ja’Marr made it pretty easy. I think he beat him off the line, and my job is just get it up to him, give him a chance. I think he created enough room where I could about throw it anywhere. It was fun throwing to a guy like that, and what a season he had. It was fun to be at the Pro Bowl around with all the guys. It was pretty cool.”

Until that day happens, he has to work with the receivers he has in New England and make them better players.

“Yeah, it was pretty nice. It was pretty nice. But hey, we got some guys in Foxboro that are doing their thing, so I got to do a better job giving them the rock.”

Maye said when he was at the Pro Bowl in Orlando, he was bragging about playing for an owner like Bob Kraft and playing in Gillette Stadium. He said Patriots fans were like none other around the league.

“No, I definitely think a little bit. I definitely did get to know some of the guys. Getting to know…tell them a little bit about Boston, about Foxborough, about Gillette a little bit. Tell them about the fan base,” Maye said. “I think it’s definitely time to get to know some guys and let them know that the Pats got some things to make some moves this offseason.”

Maye said he is excited to work with new coach Mike Vrabel — the meeting he had with him was energetic and he can’t wait to get started.

“I think he’s excited. Excited to work with me. I think, obviously, he’s been a head coach and knows what it’s like to win in this league. And I think he’s excited to get things back at a place he played up there with the Patriots, get things back kind of in line and on the right path,” Maye said. “So I think he’s excited to be the head guy moving in that direction. And I think he’s excited to get me up there and put me to work.”

The subject then turned back to the Pro Bowl receivers and Maye did not hold back.

“Ja’Marr is obviously a great answer, I think. Shoot. Another receiver there that I met…. Nico Collins was awesome. Nico was awesome. Any other free agents? Who else? I don’t even know any other free agents,” Maye said. “Justin Jefferson, he’s an easy person to come to Foxboro.”
