For several fans and pundits alike, Christian Gonzalez was the shining star for the New England Patriots this season. The second-year cornerback proved difficult to deal with for opponents.
However, Gonzalez did not get the Pro Bowl honors announced by the NFL on Thursday. Fans stand by the CB as he reacts to the snub.
Christian Gonzalez’s Reaction to the Pro Bowl Snub Has Patriots Fans in Unison
Gonzalez became the Patriots’ first-round selection in the 2023 NFL Draft; however, he couldn’t play more than four games due to injuries. This was his first full season in the NFL, and he showed why he was so highly rated by Bill Belichick and Co.
The 22-year-old made 59 tackles, one fumble recovery, and two interceptions. He has been consistently rated as providing top-tier coverage. Hence, after his snub, he could only laugh it off. The CB posted merely a laughing emoji on X (formerly Twitter) after the Pro Bowl selections were announced.
Fans stood by him and gave him their utmost support. “The disrespect is real out here bro! No doubt a Pro Bowler,” replied one fan.

“Pro Bowl, All pro you earned it with the hard work. I don’t know why they feel otherwise,” one fan added.
“You got robbed bro, pro bowl is a joke anyways, you’re the best corner in football,” tweeted a fan.

“If the votes were based on skill you know you’d be at the top. Unfortunately, we are not popular enough, but I quickly learned popular kids end up washed so I wouldn’t worry about it,” added another fan.
“Don’t sweat it Gonzo. Keep grinding, they’ll be forced to respect you soon enough,” responded one fan.
“You deserved it. Best revenge is to come out next year and make sure they realize the mistake,” another fan tweeted.

Ex-NFL QB Blames the Circumstances for Gonzalez’s Snub
Former quarterback Brian Hoyer played for the Patriots in his first three years in the NFL (and boomeranged back twice more later in his career). After Gonzalez’s snub, he took to X and posted the possible reasons behind Gonzalez’s name missing from the list.
“Gonzo falls victim to being on a team with a bad record and no prime time games. It’s a shame for a guy who is a top corner in the league,” Hoyer tweeted.
