What’s Next for the Patriots’ Roster?

More roster maneuvering is likely on the horizon.

The Patriots could place additional players on short-term injured reserve. Any player placed on IR after roster cutdown day also must sit out the season’s first four games.

Open spots could be filled by free agents, waiver claims, or players re-signing with the Patriots after being released.

New England will also begin filling out its 16-player practice squad. The full group won’t be announced until Wednesday afternoon, but we’ll be able to assemble an unofficial list after attending Patriots practice earlier in the day.
