The Chiefs QB has a game early tomorrow against the Denver Broncos, which might be why Patrick wasn’t at the stadium to support the Current. Hopefully, he’ll get time for the upcoming semifinal matchup.
Patrick Mahomes and Chiefs’ Aim To Extend Winning Streak
Mahomes and the Chiefs are currently on a 14-game-winning streak. In fact, their last loss came against the Las Vegas Raiders on Christmas Day 2023. However, the defending Super Bowl champions will face a tough test in Week 10.
Mahomes had his best game of the season in last week’s overtime win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In the upcoming game, he will go against the league’s sixth-best scoring and passing defense, as Denver is allowing just 17.7 points and 186.6 passing yards per game.
The Chiefs have heavily relied on running the ball the season. Kareem Hunt has stepped up after Isiah Pacheco’s injury and has kept the pressure off from Mahomes. However, the Broncos also have the ninth-best run defense in the NFL, allowing 108.7 rushing yards per game.
As a result, the Kansas City quarterback will be required to step up and build on last week’s performance to extend the Chiefs’ winning streak.
In his career, Mahomes is 12-1 against the Broncos. In these 13 games, he has thrown for 3,505 yards, 19 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions with a passer rating of 93.3.
Kansas City lost 24-9 to the Broncos in their previous matchup, so the team will be much more motivated to get the job done on Sunday.
