The Kansas City Chiefs came up on top in a sensational matchup in the AFC Championship Game against the Buffalo Bills. Led by an unstoppable Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid’s team defeated Josh Allen and Sean McDermott’s team 32-29, but it wasn’t without controversy, neither before the game nor after.
Patrick Mahomes Finds Support From Longtime Trainer Bobby Stroupe
ESPN insider Adam Schefter is at the center of the storm. Schefter’s tweet on the morning of the showdown, questioning officiating in favor of Mahomes and Co., sat well with the non-Chiefs fan base. Still, for Kansas City fans and supporters, including Mahomes’ longtime trainer Bobby Stroupe — it didn’t sit quietly.
Stroupe, who has trained Mahomes since the quarterback was just nine years old, clapped back on X, saying, “How about that non-Offensive PI call on the Bills, @AdamSchefter?”

Stroupe’s defense is part of a larger narrative surrounding claims of biased officiating in favor of the Chiefs, an argument that has gained traction with the team’s dominance on the national stage for the past few years.
Officiating has been a hot topic this season, with plenty of questionable calls across the league. Still, Stroupe and other Chiefs loyalists argue that Kansas City is unfairly singled out. Eric Stonestreet, the Modern Family actor and die-hard Chiefs fan, joined the fray, slamming Schefter during an appearance on NFL GameDay.
“’The league is favoring the Chiefs’ — he calls out Patrick Mahomes in his tweet like Patrick Mahomes is the only one on the beneficiary end of a roughing-the-passer call. He’s got the biggest reach in all of the NFL, and here he’s out implying and furthering this conspiracy that the league is rigging the game against us. Here’s the deal. I love football. I love it all. I don’t — I hate that stuff,” Stonestreet said.

Keeping the noise aside, Mahomes continues to shine. With three Super Bowl titles and two MVP awards to his name already, the 29-year-old quarterback is showing no signs of slowing down, especially when it comes to the playoffs.
Stroupe credits a unique “cake system” for Mahomes’ success, a program that balances movement, force, stability, and flexibility. They train up to five days a week in the offseason, and Stroupe ensures the Kansas City star is always prepared for the league’s demands.
The Chiefs now look forward to making history in another Super Bowl appearance against the Philadelphia Eagles. If the Chiefs secure the Lombardi Trophy for the third time in a row, it would be a feat never before accomplished in the NFL, and Mahomes’ legacy will shift alongside that of Tom Brady.
