Chiefs Superstar Patrick Mahomes Has Perfect Response When Asked About Head Coach Andy Reid’s Historic 300th Win

Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid have one goal in mind and Mahomes made it clear after the 300th win in his head coach's historic career.

The Kansas City Chiefs have done it again.

Since Patrick Mahomes became a starter, the Chiefs have made it to every single AFC Championship Game, bringing their current streak to seven consecutive appearances. Out of those, six have come at their Arrowhead Stadium home turf, leading some to call it the Arrowhead Invitational.

But while the Chiefs share their joy on the sidelines, their victory over the  Houston Texans marks the 300th win of Andy Reid’s career. Just the fourth coach in NFL history to achieve the feat, it is a remarkable milestone in a career filled with them. But, if quarterback Mahomes is to be believed, Reid is not done, not even for this season itself.

Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid Have One Goal in Mind

A remarkably dominant effort from Kansas City saw the Chiefs win 23-14 in a match that was never really close any time in the fourth quarter. It began the way for a dynasty that very well has the chance to be the greatest in NFL history as they attempt to complete the first-ever three-peat.

And, according to Mahomes, that is where his head coach’s sights are set. Right after the game, the two-time league MVP spoke about the incredible moment for Coach Reid, “I know 300 wins means a lot to him. I think he’s trying to get to 302 this year.”

Those two wins would come in the AFC Championship Game and the Super Bowl. Another title would bring Reid’s career total of Lombardi Trophies to four, just two shy of tying Bill Belichick for most in league history.

A career that began thanks to a break by Mike Holmgren has paved the way for legends like Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Jason Kelce, and even given coaches like John Harbaugh the start of his decorated tenure in the league. And, Reid doesn’t seem close to slowing down.

Earlier in the season, he signed a five-year extension with the Chiefs worth $100 million. That is going to keep the unrivaled pairing of Mahomes and Reid together for the foreseeable future.

Reid is less than 50 wins shy of Don Shula’s all-time record of 347 combined regular-season and postseason wins. And barring a major catastrophe, Reid should have a solid chance of eclipsing that mark before hanging up his headset.

Saturday’s victory marked Reid’s 27th postseason win, now leaving him just four shy of Bill Belichick’s all-time record of 31. Reid has a chance to overtake both legends in his final few years with Kansas City.

In a resume littered with accolades, the two feats could add to a career that is shaping up to be in conversation for the greatest ever.
