The Las Vegas Raiders fired head coach Antonio Pierce. To make matters worse, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes “liked” the post announcing it on social media. Apparently, Mahomes has not forgiven Pierce and the Raiders for what they said about him in the preseason.
Mahomes ‘Likes’ Tweet Announcing Antonio Pierce’s Termination
There appears to be bad blood between Mahomes and Pierce. The question is, what is this all about? Mahomes went out of his way to “like” a post on social media announcing Pierce’s termination from the Raiders.

There has been a rivalry between the Raiders and the Chiefs for a long time as AFC West foes, but what would cause Mahomes to go out of his way to air his grievance against Pierce on social media?
This might be the story:
The Raiders seemingly poked the metaphorical bear early on in training camp when rookie safety Trey Taylor used a fan-made doll of Kermit the Frog dressed up as Mahomes and made fun of the Super Bowl MVP’s voice.
Mahomes, whose voice has been compared to Kermit’s, was the butt of the joke between a Raiders fan and Taylor, who tried to mimic his voice.
Mahomes and his camp immediately took notice. First, Mahomes’ trainer responded on X (formerly known as Twitter) by posting, “We will remember.” Then, Mahomes responded by telling reporters: “It’ll get handled when it gets handled.”
While Taylor’s antics certainly added some fuel to the fire that rages between the Chiefs and Raiders, this isn’t the first time the Raiders have spoken out about Mahomes recently.
Pierce also made headlines when he said that his team would play Mahomes far differently this season, noting that he implemented the “Patrick Mahomes Rules” before explaining what that means.

“You got the ‘Jordan Rules.’ I’m calling it from now on, as long as I’m here, the ‘Patrick Mahomes Rules,’” Pierce said on a podcast. “Before he became Michael Jordan, Air Jordan, the [Detroit] Pistons used to whoop his a**. Any time he came to the hole? Elbows, feeling him, love taps, we touched him, we’re in their head, mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, I’m touching you. As long as I’m here, it’s the ‘Patrick Mahomes Rules.’”
It looks like Pierce will no longer be there to enforce the “Patrick Mahomes Rules.”
