Patrick Mahomes’ Family: A Look at the Chiefs’ QB’s Inner Circle

    Published on

Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes is the best QB in the NFL, but how much do you know about the two-time Super Bowl champion's family?

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has had a near-incomprehensible start to his pro career. Through six seasons as a starter, Mahomes has married statistical excellence with success in the win column like few before him ever have. That’s evidenced week in and week out.

Mahomes has a trio of impressive pairs on his résumé: he’s a two-time Super Bowl champion, two-time Super Bowl MVP, and a two-time league MVP. He’s tallied an incredible 74-22 record as a starter in the regular season. That extends into the postseason as well, where he’s a sterling 13-3 in the playoffs.

Mahomes’ stats are reflective of his excellence. He averages 4,690 passing yards and 36 touchdown passes per season. If he can achieve the longevity of predecessors like Tom Brady and Peyton Manning he’ll very much be discussed in that same rarefied air.

    Who Are Patrick Mahomes’ Parents?

It’s always interesting to learn about the parents of superstar athletes. They can often provide a glimpse into a player’s formative years. In addition, a player’s athletic gifts can sometimes be traced back to their parents. Such is the case with Mahomes.

Mahomes’ father, Pat Mahomes Sr., enjoyed a solid career as a Major League Baseball pitcher. He was a journeyman, playing for six teams between 1992 and 2003. Mahomes Sr. registered a solid 42-39 record as a starter and showed the athletic chops to stick around for a decade-plus at the highest level.

The elder Mahomes has also hosted a podcast for several years, “The Big Mahomes Show.” He regularly features prominent former MLBers, including names such as Eric Davis and Gary Sheffield. Mahomes and his guests typically discuss the hottest topics in the sporting world.

Patrick’s mother, Randi Martin, and father have been separated since 2006. Still, the two have remained ardent supporters of their son’s athletic career, as well as his academic one.

Mahomes’ mother, in particular, takes great pride in how she stressed the importance of education to her son in his formative years.

Randi also proudly sports a custom No. 15 jersey to Chiefs’ games with “QB Producer” stitched on the back nameplate. That’s certainly a fitting moniker for the woman who gave birth to football’s preeminent QB.

    Who Is Mahomes’ Wife?

Mahomes’ parents haven’t garnered a ton of screentime during his NFL career. The same cannot be said of the star QB’s wife, Brittany Mahomes.

As Mahomes’ star has grown, so too has the amount of exposure his wife has seen. Cameras will regularly pan to Brittany and company — lately of the very famous variety — celebrating big plays during Chiefs games.

Brittany has some athletic chops of her own. She was once a standout women’s soccer player at Division III University of Texas-Tyler and had a brief professional stint with an Icelandic team in the UMFA.

She’s since parlayed two related passions — fitness and athletics — into a career.

When she’s not supporting her husband, Brittany can often be found supporting others in their bid for improved health and fitness. She studied kinesiology collegiately and went on to become a certified personal trainer. She now offers online coaching and training through her website, Brittany Lynne Fitness. The web page advertises a variety of programs for all fitness levels.

“’Training like Britt’ means many things — working hard, staying dedicated, not making excuses, and most of all, no BS! These programs are designed to tone, grow muscle and get STRONG. Don’t be afraid to lift heavy and push yourself!” Mahomes writes on her site.

    Who Is Mahomes’ Brother?

Patrick’s younger brother, Jackson Mahomes, is no stranger to the limelight. Nor is he unfamiliar with controversy.

On the contrary, it seems the 23-year-old TikTok star is often embroiled in some scandal or another.

Jackson drew headlines in September 2021 for dumping water on a heckling fan, as seen in the tweet above. He also garnered criticism later that same year when he was spotted dancing for a TikTok on a memorial for the late Sean Taylor.

But these incidents were noteworthy for being immoral more so than illegal. The allegations that Jackson recently dealt with were much more serious.

Jackson was arrested and charged with aggravated sexual battery in May 2023 after he allegedly shoved a waiter and forcibly kissed a Kansas restaurant owner. Three of the felony charges lobbied against him were dropped earlier this month, according to CBS Sports. Yet, there is one outstanding misdemeanor assault charge that remains in limbo.

Jackson is still a regular attendee at Chiefs games, which is a strong indicator that Patrick’s support for him hasn’t waned any. While Kansas City’s star signal-caller didn’t delve into specifics, he made it clear that he’ll remain supportive of his brother, but not allow familial issues to distract from the success of his football team.

“I mean, at the end of the day, I come here to play football and try to take care of my family at the same time,” the quarterback said. “So I just kind of keep it to myself and just go out there and play football when I’m in the building.”
