Patrick Mahomes will officially be entering his eighth NFL season once the Kansas City Chiefs return to action on Thursday, Sept. 5 to kick off the new league year.
The world by now knows Mahomes as the three-time Super Bowl Most Valuable Player and one of the faces of the sports world. But along with his growing production and popularity on the field, Mahomes is growing something else off of it: the Mahomes family tree. Here’s a closer look at the children of the Chiefs’ star quarterback.
Sterling Mahomes
Sterling was the first child of Mahomes and his wife, Brittany Mahomes.
Sterling Skye Mahomes was born on Feb. 20, 2021 — a week after the Chiefs’ Super Bowl 55 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
She’s already following in Mahomes’ athletic footsteps … but rather those of her mother. Brittany, who played college soccer at the University of Texas at Tyler, revealed on her Instagram stories on July 26 that her daughter is now learning the sport Brittany immersed herself in.
Brittany spent her younger years around the sport of soccer. She also co-owns the Kansas City Current of the National Women’s Soccer League.
Sterling isn’t the only child of the famed NFL couple, though.
Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III
Sterling became an older sister on Nov. 28, 2022.
Unlike the eldest, Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III was born during the season — two days after Mahomes led the Chiefs to a 30-27 win over the rival Los Angeles Chargers. He was even given a silver chain with “Bronze” emblazoned in the bling.
Bronze was born at seven pounds, eight ounces while his dad was pursuing his second Super Bowl ring. After knocking off the Philadelphia Eagles in Glendale, Ariz., Mahomes took Sterling and Bronze to their first Disney World trip together.
“You enjoy every day so much more, and having them, the years fly by, and just try to do whatever I can to enjoy the little moments,” Mahomes told Good Morning America while on their trip to Orlando, Fla.
Is There a Third Mahomes Child?
The Mahomes family tree isn’t stopping its growth any time soon.
The couple revealed in July 2024 that they’re expecting a third child to come into the world.
Will Bronze earn a new brother? Or is Sterling going to have a fellow girl inside the Mahomes house? Brittany posted the gender of the child on her Instagram page back on July 19. Sterling played a special game of tic-tac-toe to help unveil the baby’s gender — with pink confetti showering down on the family.
No official word yet on what the name of the next Mahomes child will be. However, the Chiefs’ QB1 told reporters during training camp he plans on not having any more children and will settle for three — leaving Bronze as the only boy among the siblings.
