Pat McAfee Salutes Chiefs Superstar Travis Kelce for Being a ‘Gentleman’ Unlike Taylor Swift’s Past Boyfriends

Pat McAfee had plenty of things to say and asked when Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce made an appearance on his show Monday.

During an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Pat McAfee was joined by special guest Travis Kelce, who, of course, talked about his relationship with superstar Taylor Swift.

McAfee, who is a huge Swift fan, praised Kelce for being a good guy during his relationship with Swift.

Pat McAfee Calls Travis Kelce a Gentleman

Swift has been known to write songs about her exes, like actor Jake Gyllenhaal. Reportedly, the song “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” was about their relationship.

Although the two have never really spoken about it over the years, Swift torched him in that song.

This brings us to Monday when McAfee praised Kelce for being such a gentleman while dating Swift and dragged her other exes.

“You’re a gentleman, pal; you need to know that; you continue to represent football [players] in a beautiful way,” McAfee told Kelce.

McAfee continued, “So many f***boys out there. I’ve heard about them all because my wife — I’ve listened to all their albums. I appreciate you, dude. And also, I think there’s one coming [song] where it’s going to be great. Like, hey guy, good thing. That’ll be great.”

“Just trying to represent the boys, man,” Kelce responded. “Just trying to represent the boys.”

Swifties have been in love with the couple since it was first announced in September 2023 that the pair were dating.

McAfee and Kelce also discussed how the Chiefs tight end supports Swift when she is creating new music.

“Let’s just say you’re hanging out, having a little dinner,  and all of a sudden the creative juice sparks,” McAfee said. “The absolute beast that you’re sitting with, who is going to go down as maybe the most famous icon in the history of music, starts thinking, ‘Uhh, I like that.’ So, are you a motivator every single time?”

“C’mon now, you know it!” Kelce responded. “I’ll never chime in, but you already know, I’m here to support it. I’m here to see where it can go.”

McAfee also asked Kelce if he knew if Swift was making any new music, perhaps some positive dating songs, and he got Kelce to admit that he may have heard a few new songs.

“There might be a few,” Kelce said. “I don’t know, there might be a few.”

McAfee asked directly: “Have you heard any? Are you a test ear?”

“You know I can’t say any of that,” Kelce said with a smile before cryptically adding: “I hear music everywhere.”

Kelce Hints Taylor Swift Will Attend Chiefs-Texans Game

Also, during the interview, Kelce hinted at a Swift appearance at the Divisional Round game this weekend versus the Houston Texans.

“Is there going to be an aura in that place, a little extra, you know what we’re talking about,” McAfee asked.

Kelce smiled and replied, “Oh, yeah, you know it, baby; it’s playoff football, man.”

Then, McAfee turned his attention from Swift to how Kelce and the Chiefs felt going into this weekend — “I’m fired up, man,” the three-time Super Bowl champ began. “I’m feeling 22 all over again, baby. Let’s go!”

For those of you not in the know “22” is a shoutout to the title of his girlfriend’s song with the same name on the album “Red.”

Kelce took delight when McAfee picked up on the reference.

“I was hoping you caught the reference, baby,” Kelce said. “I’m ready to rock and roll, baby. The biggest thing for me is trusting Coach [Andy Reid]. He’s been doing this a long, long time, and when it comes to getting the bye week, we’ve had a few of them over the course of my career, so for me, it’s just making sure we put the pads on at least one time throughout the week.

“Make sure we get our physicality in and get that in check, play with some low pad level throughout the week, and then, on top of that, put your feet up, man, watch some football, and get ready for some playoff action.”

Kelce and some of the other Chiefs teammates have had a few weeks off to relax, and it will be interesting to see if it affects their play and if they show any rust.
