Shedeur Sanders is set to step foot in the NFL now and has become the talk of the town, whether it be about his NFL Draft position or the team that he’s going to land with.
The Colorado quarterback recently made an exciting appearance at the NFL Honors alongside his dad, Coach Prime, and eldest brother, Deion Sanders Jr.
The event was held at Saenger Theatre in New Orleans on Feb. 6, 2025, when the Colorado QB met popular NFL and college football analyst Pat McAfee.

Pat McAfee Heaps Praise on Shedeur Sanders During Short Run-In
McAfee used to play as a punter for the Indianapolis Colts; he played for eight years, reaching the Pro Bowl twice and a Super Bowl appearance in 2009. McAfee is now one of the most popular TV analysts and one of the most loved hosts on ESPN’s “College GameDay.”
During the brief meetup with the Colorado quarterback in New Orleans, McAfee took on the persona of a fan and introduced himself as a former player.
McAfee told Sanders he was a big fan and asked him how he was feeling. The TV analyst also asked Sanders which team he was hoping to join.
The projected first-round pick then was praised by McAfee, who told him he’s tough and he likes his ability to get back up and talk back no matter how tough things get.
McAfee told Sanders that he respects him and said that he’s a dog. He wished him luck in the future and stated how fun it’s been watching the Colorado quarterback.
“Hey, I punted in the NFL, man. Hey, big fan. How are you feeling? Can’t wait to watch where you go. You’re the man. You are tough. I like that. You getting your a** beat and standing right up and then, like, talking s**t about it. I respect you. You’re a dog. Good luck, and it’s been fun to watch you.”
After hosting the NFL Draft in Detroit in 2024, the 2025 NFL Draft will take place April 24-26 at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisc.
Sanders and Cam Ward are considered the top two quarterbacks in this year’s draft class; some analysts pick Miami’s star as the No. 1 pick, while others see Sanders as the top pick in 2025.
