It has been a rough week for the Jacksonville Jaguars. First, they lost their WR1 Christian Kirk on Monday night’s first play of the game.
Later in the game, QB Trevor Lawrence went down hard and could barely stand up. After slamming his helmet into the ground, the Jaguars were worried that their franchise QB might also be out for the season.
One bright spot? Parker Washington. Washington had a great game against the Bengals once the Jags lost Kirk last week, scoring a TD, and he continued to play a part in the offense on Sunday in Week 14. Should fantasy football managers pick up Washington on the waiver wire?
Should Parker Washington Be a Fantasy Waiver Wire Add in Week 15?
Washington had over 18 fantasy points and finished as the WR15 in Week 13.
He was not as successful in Week 14 against Cleveland, but the matchup was tougher. He caught two of his three targets for 27 yards and one TD, though the usage went down. In Week 13, he had 25% of the WR targets — this week that dropped down to 10%. Washington is 6% rostered on Yahoo.
When it was unclear if Lawrence would miss time, picking up Washington was a scary thought. Starting him with C.J. Beathard under center would be risky at best. However, even though Lawrence didn’t look exactly like himself, he looked good enough to keep playing, and I expect him not to miss time.
With that assumption, Washington is a decent waiver target in a deeper league (and if you have been struggling with your WRs staying healthy). It was another week with tons of WRs going down, so if you were a Nico Collins or Justin Jefferson manager, you might need a warm body like Washington on your squad.
I would be cautious in starting him as he went from six targets in Week 13 to half that in Week 14. TE Evan Engram seems to be the major recipient of the targets that Kirk has vacated. The matchup next week is a tough one, too — the Jags take on the Baltimore Ravens, who have given up the second-fewest fantasy points to opposing WRs.

The matchup in Week 16 is much better against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs give up the fourth-most fantasy points to WRs, so if you can hold on to Washington on your bench, he is a potential start that week. Washington is WR62 in PFN’s consensus rankings.
