Paramount+ Super Bowl Commercial: Watch the Hilarious ‘Hey Arnold’ Super Bowl Commercial Featuring Tua Tagovailoa and Patrick Stewart

How many different characters were in the Paramount+ Super Bowl Commercial? CBS's streaming service pulled out all the stars for tonight's ad.

Streaming services have become the standard as cable continues to fall into irrelevancy. CBS will have theirs on full display with a Paramount+ Super Bowl commercial and stream of Super Bowl 58 tonight.

Paramount+ unveiled its Super Bowl 58 spot a little over a week ago, one featuring a wide array of stars on Paramount Mountain. Here’s a look at the new ad.

How Ambitious Was the Paramount+ Super Bowl Commercial Crossover?

The Paramount+ Super Bowl commercial, entitled “Sir Patrick Stewart Throws a Hail Arnold,” is the second ad in the past few months to feature a prominent AFC East QB. While Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen was featured in their playoff commercial, Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa gets the spotlight in tonight’s Super Bowl ad. Tagovailoa, Sir Patrick Stewart, Drew Barrymore, and many others reach an impasse on Paramount Mountain.

Tua attempts to throw a grapple to the top of the impasse but misses. He explains to everyone that he doesn’t quite have the power to get the grapple up there, but if it was a football, he could make it to the top. Stewart suggests a football-shaped head, and the camera pans over to Arnold from “Hey, Arnold!”

Lieutenant Jim Dangle from “Reno 911!” and Knuckles the Echidna go along with Stewart’s plan. Barrymore points out that it is, in fact, not a good idea, and they shouldn’t and can’t throw a child.

Stewart turns to her and shouts, “Barrymore! Shut your face!” However, Tua agrees with Barrymore, to which Stewart chuckles and replies, “Not built for the moment, I see. I’ll throw him,” and sheds his coat to unveil a Bart Starr-era NFL uniform.

Paramount+ then hopped on the viral bandwagon as “Higher” by the rock band Creed starts playing while Stewart looks at his wrist for the play that reads, “Throw the Child.” Barrymore points out the presence of Creed as if it were inevitable while Stewart straps his leather helmet on for the throw.

Stewart takes hold of Arnold’s head, mixes up the vocabulary from various sports, kisses his head, then drops back and throws Arnold. The sweet serenade of Creed overlays the slow-mo as the entire group watches Arnold fly through the air toward the top of the impasse.

However, Stewart’s throw comes up short as Arnold slams just under the top of the wall. As Barrymore wonders how they will reach the top of the impasse, Stewart thinks aloud, “Now, if there were only someone made of pig skin?” The whole group turns towards Peppa Pig, and the commercial cuts out.

CBS did an incredible job on the celebrity-heavy Paramount+ Super Bowl commercial, and it looks to be an early favorite for one of the best ads of the night.
