The short answer is yes. The Panthers vs. Cowboys may seem close on paper, but the quality of these two teams is significantly different. Yes, the Panthers are coming into this game undefeated. However, take a look at who they have beaten. Their first win was against the New York Jets, a team ranked near the bottom of PFN’s 2021 Power Rankings. After that, they had a good win against the Saints, followed by a win over the Houston Texans, a team also near the bottom of our power rankings.
Dallas, meanwhile, played the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers close in Week 1. Then, the Cowboys picked up wins on the road against the Chargers and at home against the Eagles. The caliber of opponents is very different. In addition, the Panthers are coming into this game with some serious injury concerns.
