Game Prediction
The Panthers-Falcons matchup features a pair of quarterbacks in their first full season as the starter. For Carolina, it’s Young, while Atlanta sends out second-year QB Ridder to lead its offense.
While it’s not the most exciting of Week 1 matchups — neither team has had a winning season since 2017 — with the NFC South as poor as it was last season, every victory probably feels like two for these teams in their quest to take the division.
While both teams reloaded in the offseason, the Falcons seem more ready to take the step toward regaining the advantage in the division.
Atlanta spent a lot of money in the offseason to improve its defense, and Carolina’s offense saw a lot of change — not just at the quarterback position.
A half of a point is always a dicey situation, especially in the NFL. But while these teams are both looking to turn around their recent mediocre performances, I think the Falcons are looking to get it done at a quicker rate than the Panthers.
