The Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears meet this week on Thursday Night Football in a matchup of two teams struggling to find consistency and wins. The teams are a combined 3-14 this season, with nine losses by at least 10 points.

Who Will Be Announcing the Panthers-Bears Broadcast Tonight?

Al Michaels will be doing play-by-play, Kirk Herbstreit is providing analysis, and Kaylee Hartung is reporting from the sidelines.

Herbstreit, who is in his second season with Amazon Prime, has been one of the faces of college football on ESPN since the 1990s.

He has been an analyst on College GameDay since 1996 and, in 2006, was added as a lead game analyst for ESPN and ABC. Herbstreit played quarterback at Ohio State from 1989 to 1992 and was the team’s starter and MVP as a senior.

Hartung has worked with ESPN, the Longhorn Network, the SEC Network, CNN, and ABC during her career. She is currently a contributing correspondent for NBC’s TODAY Show.

Charissa Thompson hosts the pregame show that features former NFL players Richard Sherman, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Andrew Whitworth, and Tony Gonzalez.

Al Michaels’ Broadcasting Career Has Been a Historic One

When it comes to iconic moments in sports, it wasn’t just football that Michaels was there for. The announcer has narrated some of the most significant sporting events in history, such as the “Miracle on Ice,” in which an underdog team of college ice hockey players from the United States defeated the Soviet Union at the 1980 Olympic Winter Games in Lake Placid, New York.

Throughout his career, Michaels was the voice of many MLB World Series games, as well as Super Bowls and countless Sunday night and Monday night football games over the years.

Michaels is a five-time Sports Emmy Award winner, a three-time NSMA National Sportscaster of the Year, and a Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Journalism recipient.

    Kirk Herbstreit’s Been Busy

Since November, Herbstreit has been busy with his NFL and college football duties. He called Thursday Night Football on Amazon last Thursday when the Pittsburgh Steelers had a home win against the Tennessee Titans to start the month.

Then, Herbstreit and ESPN’s College GameDay were live last Saturday morning in Tuscaloosa, ahead of the SEC clash between LSU and Alabama. After the show, Herbstreit flew to Los Angeles to call USC and Washington on ABC.

Herbstreit will go from Chicago to Athens, Georgia, after TNF this week. He will spend Saturday in Georgia with College GameDay, previewing the Bulldogs and the Ole Miss Rebels, and will be on the call for the night game on ESPN.
