Owain Jones’ 2025 NFL Mock Draft: James Pearce Jr. Headlines Exciting Defensive Class, Travis Hunter Goes Before Carson Beck

In the latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft, 11 defensive linemen land in the first round, and only three quarterbacks are selected.

Scouting is underway for the 2025 NFL Draft, and some players are already grading out as potential high picks for April’s showpiece event taking place in Green Bay, Wis. Let’s take a look at which players are appearing on radars early in this 2025 NFL Mock Draft.

Using reverse Super Bowl odds for the order, and a little help from the updated PFN Mock Draft Simulator for the selections, we attempt to predict who will hear their name called at Lambeau Field next April.

    2025 NFL Mock Draft

    1) Carolina Panthers: James Pearce Jr., EDGE, Tennessee

James Pearce Jr. is a special defensive playmaker with an ultra-athletic skillset. At 6’5″ and 242 pounds, the Tennessee Volunteers’ pass rusher displayed agility, flexibility, and burst to generate 10 sacks in the SEC in 2023.

Pearce does need to improve his strength and expand his pass-rush plan, but his proactive production and sky-high potential make him an early candidate for the first overall selection in 2025.

    2) Tennessee Titans: Travis Hunter, WR/CB, Colorado

Travis Hunter, one of the most intriguing prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft, possesses unique foundations and fundamentals that allow him to excel on both sides of the ball in Boulder, Colo. His five receiving touchdowns and three interceptions in 2023 showcase his versatility and exceptional skills.

With extraordinary athleticism, special awareness, instincts, and ball skills, Hunter grades out as an early first-round player capable of making a significant impact as a wide receiver and cornerback.

    3) New York Giants: Carson Beck, QB, Georgia

Carson Beck, the top-ranked QB in Pro Football Network’s 2025 quarterback rankings, has the potential to be the first passer drafted in Green Bay in April.

His clean pocket operation, demeanor, mechanics, and accuracy allowed him to thrive in his first year as a starter at Georgia. However, the Georgia Bulldogs’ quarterback has limited production outside of the pocket, which may limit his ceiling heading to the NFL.

    4) Washington Commanders: Will Campbell, OT, LSU

The race to be OT1 is wide open, and Will Campbell‘s physical gifts put him in pole position. At 6’6” and 320 pounds, the LSU left tackle possesses impressive athleticism and uses his physical abilities to create leverage, meaning he has a strong anchor and strength profile to remain balanced against various pass-rushing techniques.

With more technical refinement, especially in his hand placement, Campbell is poised to be a hot commodity in the draft.

    5) New England Patriots: Abdul Carter, EDGE, Penn State

Abdul Carter is following the pathway created by Micah Parsons after being a dominant factor on the Nittany Lions’ defense over two seasons. Ahead of the 2024 season, the elite defender is transitioning from inside linebacker to the edge, where he can use his overpowering athleticism and strength to be a sack-generating merchant.

    6) Denver Broncos: Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona

Tetairoa McMillan has the size, flowing movement, and outstanding ball skills to dominate in the NFL. At 6’5” and 210 pounds, the Arizona receiver has the agility to make acrobatic catches while combining route-running nuance and instant acceleration to create separation.

With 1,402 yards and 10 touchdowns on 90 receptions in 2023, McMillan also showcases top-tier production at the college level that should naturally translate to the NFL.

    7) Arizona Cardinals: Luther Burden III, WR, Missouri

One of the top wide receivers in college football in recent seasons, Luther Burden III lives and thrives on expectation. An explosive sharp mover with the long speed and staying power to win deep, the former five-star recruit has the billing of a modern-day NFL receiver.

At 5’11” and 208 pounds, Burden possesses elite separation skills and is a constant mismatch despite operating a limited route tree.

    8) Las Vegas Raiders: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado

One of the faces of college football, no prospect comes with as much noise, publicity, and hype as Shedeur Sanders. An accurate passer with easy velocity and a precise touch, the Colorado Buffaloes quarterback also has above-average athleticism. However, he needs to improve his control within the pocket with a revamped offensive line in 2025 to be considered a possible QB1 candidate.

    9) New Orleans Saints: Will Johnson, CB, Michigan

Michigan’s Will Johnson leads the field of another strong cornerback class in 2025. The elite Wolverines’ CB has been a dominant lockdown corner over his career in Ann Arbor, Mich., showcasing elite athleticism, physicality, and body control.

Johnson’s mobility and technical refinement give him immense upside, while his intuitive ball skills and innate football IQ make him one of the top overall players in the 2025 NFL Draft.

    10) Minnesota Vikings: Deone Walker, DT, Kentucky

Deone Walker is a physical specimen at 6’6” and 348 pounds, and he has the production to match, with 7.5 sacks in 2023. The Kentucky DT combines his size with otherworldly athleticism, and his explosive first set is difficult for offensive linemen to handle.

If Walker can consistently play with a lower pad level he will be considered a unique prospect with his physical abilities.

    11) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Emory Jones Jr., OT, LSU

Emery Jones Jr. is a strong, balanced, intelligent offensive tackle who operates all aspects of offensive line play at a high level. With an evident power profile, elite size at 6’6” and 322 pounds, and exceptional hand technique, he is in contention to be one of the top tackles taken in the 2025 NFL Draft. However, a noticeable lack of burst, athleticism, and flexibility may lower Jones’ ceiling.

While the LSU right tackle may not have the athletic upside of his teammate, he can claim to be more polished and refined in their current evaluations.

    12) Indianapolis Colts: Benjamin Morrison, CB, Notre Dame

At 6’0” and 185 pounds, Benjamin Morrison is another elite outside corner in this class. The Notre Dame CB is already extremely accomplished in coverage, where he supplements impressive burst and explosive movement with advanced technique and proactive instincts to limit separation.

    13) Seattle Seahawks: Conner Weigman, QB, Texas A&M

Conner Weigman, a former five-star recruit, has the tools to rocket up draft boards in a quarterback class that lacks top-end talent. An ankle injury during Week 4 meant that the Texas A&M Aggies signal caller’s season ended prematurely in 2023, but he has flashed traits that will have NFL teams on notice.

A comfortable pocket passer who combines solid instincts and awareness with keen field vision and sufficient arm strength, Weigman has the profile of a future first-round pick if he remains healthy.

    14) Jacksonville Jaguars: Kelvin Banks Jr., OT, Texas

Texas Longhorns left tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. dominated the Big 12 with his raw physicality and athleticism. At 6’4” and 324 pounds, he overpowers with his size, length, and above-average athleticism and flexibility.

As Texas transitions to the SEC, if Banks can improve his technique and refine his hand usage, he will have the traits to be drafted extremely early in the 2025 NFL Draft.

    15) Pittsburgh Steelers: Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State

Emeka Egbuka is a technician who is a high-floor prospect. With smooth route running, the Ohio State Buckeyes WR has the skill set to be a top-tier slot option in the NFL, where he can utilize his quick footwork, advanced intelligence, and space manipulation.

    16) Los Angeles Chargers: Mason Graham, DT, Michigan

Mason Graham is a violent interior defensive lineman who can dominate with overbearing power, balance, and body contortion. Equally adept at defending the run and rushing the passer, the Michigan DT has massive upside as a pass rusher, where his foot quickness and punchy hands can consistently beat blocks.

    17) Cleveland Browns: Mykel Williams, EDGE, Georgia

Mykel Williams can be next off the conveyor belt of Georgia defensive linemen drafted in the first round.

With nine sacks in two seasons, his production hasn’t left its mark. However, at 6’5” and 265 pounds, Williams has the athleticism, electric and explosive movement, versatility, and soaring potential to be an early selection.

    18) Los Angeles Rams: Denzel Burke, CB, Ohio State

At 6’1” and 193 pounds, Denzel Burke has the size and explosive athleticism to be one of the top corners drafted in 2025.

After an impressive season in 2023 (in which he recorded nine pass breakups and one interception), Burke became one of several Buckeyes who surprisingly chose to return to school, foregoing the 2024 NFL Draft. With destructive, urgent, sharp movements and fluid body control, the Ohio State CB is developing into a potential early selection.

    19) Chicago Bears: Tyleik Williams, DT, Ohio State

A highly versatile defensive lineman, Tyleik Williams has experience lining up across the defensive front. With high intelligence, a non-stop motor, and an explosive first step, the Buckeyes’ DT has the skillset of a first-round prospect.

With top-end strength, Williams overpowers opponents, and if he can be more consistent in retaining leverage and countering, he can rocket up draft boards.

    20) Atlanta Falcons: Nic Scourton, EDGE, Texas A&M

After racking up 10 sacks in 2023 at Purdue, Nic Scourton transfers to Texas A&M as one of the top pass rushers in the nation. At 6’4” and 280 pounds, the young Aggies edge rusher plays with a proactive, chippy motor, a robust power profile, and natural flexibility. He will be a hot name in the 2025 NFL Draft class if he can repeat his production in the SEC in 2024.

    21) Miami Dolphins: Earnest Greene III, OT, Georgia

Earnest Greene III started all 14 games for the Bulldogs in 2023, showcasing active athleticism, explosive burst, and overpowering physicality. At 6’4” and 320 pounds, the Georgia OT has the physical traits to be one of the top offensive linemen in the 2025 NFL Draft.

However, he is currently a player who wins purely with athleticism. To continue his development, Greene must improve his body control and use his power to create better leverage.

    22) New York Jets: Malaki Starks, S, Georgia

How NFL teams value the safety position is always tricky. A safety wasn’t selected in the first round in the 2024 or 2023 NFL Draft. However, that run will end in 2025 when Malaki Starks becomes eligible.

The Georgia safety sits at the top of PFN’s 2025 NFL Draft Big Board due to his terrific size (6’1” and 205 pounds), explosive movement, and tackling ability combined with his ball skills and range.

    23) Dallas Cowboys: Quinshon Judkins, RB, Ohio State

Quinshon Judkins exploded onto the college football scene as a freshman and has been one of the top running backs in the country over the last two seasons, racking up 3,006 scrimmage yards and 34 scrimmage touchdowns.

A powerful rusher with sharp acceleration and long speed, the Ohio State transfer has the contact balance to fight through contact while having the vision to eat open space. Judkins has the profile to be a featured back in the NFL and has the résumé to be a first-round selection.

    24) Green Bay Packers: Dani Dennis-Sutton, EDGE, Penn State

Dani Dennis-Sutton flashed in 2023, recording 3.5 sacks and six tackles for a loss behind Chop Robinson and Adisa Isaac (both were top 100 picks in the 2024 NFL Draft).

Now a starter for Penn State, Dennis-Sutton can build on his impressive run defense résumé by using his 6’5” and 270-pound frame to showcase how his overpowering strength and astute technique to display why he belongs among the top names in this class.

    25) Houston Texans: Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan

Kenneth Grant combines his incredible 6’3” and 339-pound size with freakish athleticism. His true physical traits make him a contender to be DT1 in this class with more game time in 2024. The Michigan DT’s natural power and bend overwhelm blockers, and he can easily swallow gaps in the run game.

    26) Philadelphia Eagles: Harold Perkins Jr., LB, LSU

Currently, Harold Perkins Jr. is a difficult evaluation. His more impressive plays come on passing downs, where he can utilize his explosive burst and flexibility.

The LSU defender has game-changing ability at any moment, and his instinctual downhill running gives him significant upside. However, at 6’1” and 220 pounds, he doesn’t have the frame to hold up on the edge without substantial bulk.

    27) Cincinnati Bengals: Landon Jackson, EDGE, Oklahoma

With a rich arsenal of skill moves and standing at 6’7” and 280 pounds, Landon Jackson has the versatility to play across the defensive line.

The Oklahoma product is secure against the run and potent rushing the passer, where he uses his non-stop motor, accurate hand placement, and substantial strength to flash high upside at the next level. However, Jackson must become more consistent with his technical ability and leverage creation.

    28) Buffalo Bills: Jonah Savaiinaea, OL, Arizona

Jonah Savaiinaea played right tackle for Arizona in 2023 after playing right guard in 2022. The two-year starter, who is 6’5” and 330 pounds, has a dense frame and combines his size with urgent energy.

However, Savaiinaea lacks some length and can play too upright, leading some evaluators to position him as an interior player. With more refinement to his footwork and more precise hand placement, the Arizona Wildcats OT can stick on the outside in the NFL.

    29) Detroit Lions: Josh Conerly Jr., OT, Oregon

Josh Conerly Jr. started 14 games at left tackle in 2023 and showed real progress throughout the season, earning him an All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention. The former five-star recruit is undersized at 6’4” and just 305 pounds, but if he can continue to mature into his frame, the Oregon Ducks’ OT can find himself in first-round discussion.

With good length, movement skills, and anchor, Conerly’s draft stock will only ascend with more development during 2024.

    30) Baltimore Ravens: Evan Stewart, WR, Oregon

Evan Stewart moves to Eugene, Ore., for the 2024 season and is due a big year after amassing 1,163 receiving yards and six receiving touchdowns in his two seasons in College Station, Texas.

A separator at all three levels, the Oregon WR overcomes his slight 6’0” and 175-pound frame with expansive speed, twitchy change of direction, and energetic agility.

    31) San Francisco 49ers: Colston Loveland, TE, Michigan

Colston Loveland has the playmaking upside to be a considerable pass-catching weapon in the NFL. With sticky hands and fluid route running, the Michigan TE can compete over the middle and up the seam, and the production should only increase in 2024. Loveland has the potential to be a great complement to George Kittle under Kyle Shanahan.

    32) Kansas City Chiefs: Princely Umanmielen, EDGE, Ole Miss

A potential top-50 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Princely Umanmielen opted to return to college. Instead of continuing his career with Florida (where he had seven sacks in 2023), he transferred to Ole Miss, where the edge defender can become a bona fide first-round selection if he can continue his development arc.

With outstanding size at 6’5” and 255 pounds, Umanmielen has an explosive initial burst and malleable body control to win in several ways.
