Simone Biles has had quite an illustrious career as arguably the best gymnast in United States history. She has the most gold medals in World Championship history (23) while tying Shannon Miller for the most Olympic Gold medals in United States gymnastics history (seven).
While having all those accolades, she added Breaking News NFL Reporter on Tuesday with a tweet on her husband, Jonathan Owens, signing with the Chicago Bears.
Owens entered the NFL in 2018 as an undrafted free agent. He spent his first four seasons in Houston, starting 19 of his 31 career games. However, it was in Green Bay last year where his career really took off.
Simone Biles Announces Jonathan Owens is Joining the Bears
On Tuesday evening, Biles confirmed on X (formerly known as Twitter) that her husband Owens had agreed to terms with the Bears.

Biles continued to discuss Owens’ move to the Windy city on social media, where she even showed her passion for pizza and hot dogs — two food items Chicago is very famous for.
During his lone season in Green Bay last year, Owens finished with 84 tackles, three pass breakups, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery for a touchdown. His touchdown came on Thanksgiving, as he returned a fumble 27 yards for a touchdown.
His 84 tackles were third on the team last year, trailing only Quay Walker (118) and Isaiah McDuffie (86). Despite the success, the team was unable to sign him to a contract, and now the Packers have lost another key contributor from last year’s team to a division rival.
It was announced earlier on Tuesday that running back Aaron Jones was signing with the Minnesota Vikings.
How Owens Fits in Chicago
The Bears have emphasized strengthening their secondary as they started the offseason keeping one of their best players in cornerback Jaylon Johnson. They resigned the 24-year-old cornerback to a four-year, $76 million deal, giving the team a true No. 1 cornerback for the next few seasons.
Chicago also signed Philadelphia Eagles safety Kevin Byard, who has been named an All-Pro at safety twice in his career.

The Bears have a chance to be one of the deepest secondaries in the league, and Owens provides them with more depth in that unit. He was also a special teams player with Houston, and he could find himself playing on that unit again in Chicago.
Biles followed up the tweet by saying she loves Chicago, and as the old saying goes, “A happy wife equals a happy life.” Safe to say, Owens made a decision that his family is going to enjoy.
