Odell Beckham Jr.’s dynasty value rebounded in 2023 as he reminded us of his splash-play potential and was a cog in one of the NFL’s top offenses. With the veteran receiver set to test free agency, should you be rooting for OBJ to find a new home or return to the Baltimore Ravens?
Beckham is approaching his age-31 season, and — regardless of where he calls home — his fantasy football value needs to be brought into focus. Let’s dive into OBJ and evaluate what the next few seasons could look like for the one-time highlight machine.
Odell Beckham Jr.’s Dynasty Outlook
We saw flashes of big plays from Beckham in 2023, and it was good to see that those chunk gains are still in his profile when healthy. But even in a season in which he gave us more than we expected, the results were spotty, to say the least.
Including the playoffs, he was held under 35 yards in five straight games to end last season, a concerningly low floor. As humans, we’re nostalgic and sometimes slow to trust our eyes over our hearts.
Beckham is a fun player to watch, and his ability to pile up fantasy points in bunches is a skill, but not one that he proved capable of sustaining in 2023.

In Weeks 9-14, OBJ averaged 12.6 half-PPR points per game and was being utilized as a Flex option across the board. My guess — that’s the part of the season that first comes to mind when reviewing his campaign.
- Weeks 9-14: 31.3% of his games played, 60% of his fantasy points
That’s not a great note if you’re looking to count on Beckham as a weekly Flex option.
Outside of that stretch, OBJ reached 5.5 fantasy points just once. He hasn’t caught more than five touchdown passes in a season since his time with the New York Giants (2018), and if he takes his talents to a lower-octane offense in 2024, squeaking out even one more viable season is wishful thinking.

Should You Trade Beckham in Dynasty?
Are you considering trading Beckham? Our free PFN Trade Analyzer allows you to find the best trade offer to make in seconds!
I’m not optimistic on Beckham’s prospects moving forward, but your risk tolerance very much depends on where he’s playing. If he returns to the Ravens, I think you could talk yourself into holding onto him.
Percentage of deep routes in which a target was earned:
- Odell Beckham: 45.7%
- Zay Flowers: 31.8%
- Rashod Bateman: 26.3%
- Nelson Agholor: 22.7%
His 13.9-yard aDOT (average depth of target) was a career-high, and while Todd Monken’s offense is more of a quick-strike type, Beckham’s role as the field stretcher appears safe and is interesting for win-now teams as they build out their roster.
If you’re in a rebuild situation, I’d be looking to trade OBJ away, but your timing is everything.
Stay ahead of your competition with our NFL and Fantasy Player News Tracker — if news emerges that he’s likely to head back to Baltimore, wait for it to become official and then trade him. If not, look to make a move before he lands in a less advantageous offensive environment.
