The Philadelphia Eagles finished last season in embarrassing fashion, as they became the laughingstock of the NFL with how poorly their 2023 campaign ended.
While some pointed to Philadelphia’s second half schedule as an excuse last season, that won’t be an option in 2024. Nick Sirianni, Jalen Hurts and the Eagles won’t have any excuses this upcoming season.
As the NFL revealed the regular season schedule on Wednesday, it’s apparent the Eagles landed one of the more favorable slates in the NFL.
Eagles Must Fly High After Landing One of NFL’s Easiest Schedules
When Philadelphia’s regular season schedule was unveiled in 2023, many were concerned about the “gauntlet” the Eagles had to face. Following a trip to Super Bowl 57, Philadelphia landed a first-place schedule littered with tough matchups.
Yet, the Eagles’ regular season schedule is lacking any type of gauntlet in 2024. According to Pro Football Network’s strength of schedule metric, the Eagles have the ninth-easiest regular season schedule in 2024.

Philadelphia will play teams that had double-digit wins in 2023 in back-to-back games just once during the upcoming season. This will start in Week 12 when the Eagles travel to take on the Los Angeles Rams before hitting the road to face the Baltimore Ravens in Week 13.
While those games in consecutive weeks will be tough, they are nothing compared to what Philadelphia faced last season, especially the team’s embarrassing loss to the San Francisco 49ers, whom they will completely avoid during the regular season in 2024.
Another positive with Philadelphia’s regular season schedule is that it won’t be facing any teams with a significant rest advantage. According to Jimmy Kempski of Philly Voice, the Eagles won’t play any opponents coming off a bye week in 2024.
One of the toughest parts of Philadelphia’s schedule in 2023 was three road games in its final five regular season matchups. After being forced to travel to Dallas and Seattle late last season, the Eagles will barely have to travel down the final stretch in 2024.

In Philadelphia’s final six games of the regular season, it will play just two games on the road. The Eagles won’t have to board a plane for either trip as they will likely take a bus to Baltimore in Week 13 as well as in Week 16 against the Washington Commanders.
Two Potential Disadvantages to the Eagles’ Schedule
While it’s hard to really complain about anything on Philadelphia’s regular season schedule, there are two potential disadvantages. After landing a bye week in Week 10 last season, the Eagles’ off week will come much earlier in 2024.
Following just four regular season games, Philadelphia will have its bye week in Week 5. The idea of such an early bye week will likely frustrate many, it could also be a good thing for the Eagles.
Philadelphia was 8-1 prior to the team’s bye week in Week 10 last season. After the week off, the Eagles finished the regular season with a record of 11-6 after going 3-5 down the final stretch before limping into the playoffs.
Another potential disadvantage on Philadelphia’s schedule in 2024 is the amount of road games early in the regular season. Seven of Philadelphia’s first 12 games will be on the road.

That number rises to eight if you include Philadelphia’s “home” game in Week 1 against the Green Bay Packers, as it will be played in Brazil. It certainly isn’t ideal for any team to play almost 70% of its first 12 regular season games on the road.
On the bright side, if the Eagles are able to win at least half of those first 12 games, they will be in a great position down the final stretch as Philadelphia will host four of its final five regular season games at Lincoln Financial Field.
