Our rookie scouting reports combine film and analytics to provide the best possible predictions for player performance. With the 2023 NFL Draft less than a month away, let’s take a look at the scouting report for Old Dominion OL Nick Saldiveri.
Nick Saldiveri NFL Draft Profile
- Position: Offensive Lineman
- School: Old Dominion
- Year: Redshirt Senior
Saldiveri was a two-star recruit out of Parkwood High School in Monroe, North Carolina. Not being a highly sought-after recruit, Saldiveri chose to play college football at Old Dominion.
As a freshman, Saldiveri only appeared in three games, playing a total of 85 snaps. He oscillated between left and right tackle but was effective on both sides, not allowing so much as a single QB hurry.
Saldiveri earned increased playing time as a sophomore, but the quality of his play dipped. In 11 games, he allowed 22 QB hurries, two hits, and four sacks.

Unfortunately, Saldiveri did not play in 2020, as Old Dominion canceled their season due to COVID. He returned in 2021 as an improved starter, allowing 13 hurries, two hits, and five sacks in 13 games.
In his senior year in 2022, Saldiveri’s play regressed again. He allowed 16 hurries and three hits. However, he didn’t allow a sack, which certainly counts for something. He primarily played at right tackle.
Tony Pauline’s Scouting Report for Nick Saldiveri
Strengths: Tough, durable lineman who was a three-year starter at right tackle. Starts with proper knee bend, sets with a wide base, and stays square. Patient in pass protection, correctly places his hands into defenders, and anchors at the point. Outstanding position blocker who keeps his feet moving, blocks with leverage, and seals opponents from the action. Nasty and always looks for someone to hit. Displays outstanding blocking vision.
Weaknesses: Lacks balance in pass protection. Struggles to adjust and gets beaten by quick or nimble opponents. Doesn’t get much movement run blocking.
Overall: Saldiveri has been a productive lineman on the college level and comes with outstanding length and growth potential. He’s a small-area blocker who will have to play right tackle or guard. He doesn’t come with great upside, though he has the potential to make a roster as a backup utility lineman.

Given Pauline’s grade and projection, there’s a very real chance Saldiveri goes undrafted. Whether a late-Day 3 pick or a UDFA, Saldiveri will face quite the challenge to make an NFL roster.
There’s no such thing as having too many offensive linemen. For that reason, Saldiveri should get a chance to prove he belongs. Whether he is able to do so remains to be seen.
