Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa ‘Not Ready for the Moment’ in Hilarious New Super Bowl Commercial — Watch Now

The NFL world reacted to Paramount's new Super Bowl ad: Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa is featured and jokingly mocked by Sir Patrick Stewart.

Tua Tagovailoa faced a much different high-pressure situation ahead of Super Bowl 58.

While his Miami Dolphins aren’t in the big game thanks to the AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs, Tagovailoa has an involvement for the Feb. 11 contest. But as legendary actor Patrick Stewart told the Dolphins’ QB, he joked Tagovailoa was “not ready for the moment.”

Tua Tagovailoa Part of All-Star Cast in Upcoming Super Bowl Commercial

Tagovailoa is seen trying to get a grappling hook over “Paramount Mountain” in the upcoming commercial for the streaming giant. He’s making his attempt to prevent the other characters from freezing.

The Dolphins quarterback admits he’s having a hard time getting the hook over the mountain before saying he would get a football over it with ease. Stewart then offers the suggestion to use “Hey Arnold” star Arnold Shortman of Nickelodeon fame since he has a “football-shaped head.”

A humorous back-and-forth ensues as Tagovailoa refuses to throw “a child” over the mountain. Sonic The Hedgehog character Knuckles called it “smart thinking” while actress and talk show host Drew Barrymore rejects the idea.

Tagovailoa doesn’t want to throw Arnold, to which Stewart jokingly rips Tua by saying how he’s “not built for the moment, I see.” Stewart proceeds to remove his coat to unveil a 1920s-themed football uniform.

Along with the Star Trek legend and longtime actress, Tagovailoa appears alongside two members of the rock band Creed (who rock out to their famed 1999 hit “Higher”), Survivor host Jeff Probst, Thomas Lennon (Lt. Jim Dangle from Reno 911), Dora the Explorer, Master Chief from Halo, and Peppa Pig.

The commercial can be seen in its entirety below.

Afterward, fans didn’t take long to react to Tagovailoa’s acting performance.

‘A True Actor’ Among Notable Reactions for Dolphins QB

Fans flocked to social media to either praise or roast the Dolphins’ passer.

“Tua Tagovailoa isn’t only a great passer — he’s a true actor as well in this Paramount commercial,” one account said on X (formerly known as Twitter).

One more fan called the performance “absurd” on the social media website.

Another fan mocked Tagovailoa in the commercial. “If they had a real QB throwing instead of Tua Tagovailoa they would have gotten up,” the fan joked on X.

Meanwhile, one fan never envisioned seeing the playoff QB and the popular Sega video game character Knuckles in the same place together.

But another fan, one who spoke on behalf of Buffalo Bills fans, believed this was the thought “Bills Mafia” had in watching the clip.

“Tua Tagovailoa throwing in the cold? They’re doomed,” the post read.

Another, however, praised the commercial and called it a “masterpiece.”
