A Valentine's Day hug between Brittany Mahomes and Clyde Edwards-Helaire created fun for NFL fans on social media.

Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Patrick, ran and jumped into the arms of Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire, who carried her for a few moments on the Kansas City Chiefs parade route on Wednesday. The two continued running through the street together with their arms around each other.

Edwards-Helaire won his second Super Bowl title last week when the Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in overtime. Brittany and Patrick Mahomes have been together for all three of Kansas City’s Super Bowls over the last five years.

There was a lot of fan reaction on X (formerly known as Twitter) to Brittany Mahomes and Edwards-Helaire embracing.

One person posted, “This is what Chiefs Kingdom is about.” Another user posted, “Clyde Edwards Helaire had more yards carrying Brittany Mahomes here than he did carrying the football in the actual Super Bowl”

Edwards-Helaire had one rush for no yards against the 49ers.

People reacted to the hug happening on Valentine’s Day. A person posted, “If I’m Pat, he’s gone TMRW”

One user posted, “Lmaoo running and jumping into another man’s arms who you just saw a few days ago on VALENTINES DAY is wildlmaoo”

Another person’s post dismissed the talk, “Honestly, Brittany is such a vibe. She cheers as any professional athlete would, she rages. The boys love her. People are so dumb lol”

Edwards-Helaire responded to the comments and posted: My first time seeing Brit w/o having to go play a game all year! Go ask my Fiancé to see her Ring since we wanna talk!”

A person appreciated the moment for Edwards-Helaire in a post, “Man, I love this. Clyde has been through it in his time in KC, much like Mecole. Couldn’t be happier for both those guys.”

Unfortunately, a short while later, all of the fun moments turned somber when gunshots rang throughout the crowd, killing one and injuring dozens.

Edward-Helaire responded to the mother’s post: “Zach was brave for sure!! Sorry, the family and all of Chiefs Kingdom had to experience this. Just wanted to Thank Zach for trusting me and knowing I’ll protect him.”
