The Dallas Cowboys are in shambles, and fans are getting restless. Many are wondering whether Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders is interested in taking over from current HC Mike McCarthy.
Earlier this week, the Cowboys endured their fourth straight defeat, a 34-6 loss against the Philadelphia Eagles, which dropped them further to 3-6 on the year, with no hopes in sight.
While discussing the team’s struggles this season on Speak, NFL analyst Michael Irvin teased if Coach Prime would be interested in leaving Colorado, potentially for the Cowboys, who need a turnaround as Deion did with the Buffaloes. However, the Buffs coach had a straight response.

“Let me take the computer here, because you’re starting to talk that talk. I got to show you where I am. I love it where I am,” Sanders said.
Sanders’ denial to leave Colorado had netizens flaming Cowboys and their owner Jerry Jones with hilarious digs.
“Jerry Jones would be jealous of attention this man would get,” one fan commented.
Some fans believe Sanders should not bother considering this job due to Jones.
“Yh he don’t want that Jerry Jones circus headache 🤕,” another added.
“Don’t do it Prime! Jerry’s ego is too big,” one fan advised Coach Prime.
“Deion ain’t trying to deal with Jerry,” another wrote.

Jerry Jones Not in Habit of Removing Coaches Midseason
While Sanders has already made up his mind about not leaving Colorado despite his two sons, Shedeur and Shilo Sanders, potentially leaving for the NFL next year, Jones has already expressed that he has full confidence in McCarthy following a blowout loss to the Philadelphia Eagles
“Mike is a heck of a coach, a great coach in my mind,” Jones said, per The Athletic. “[He] has and should have the opportunity to do better than we’re playing right now. I haven’t had good experience changing coaches in the middle of the season.”
The only time Dallas has decided to move on from a coach midseason dates back to 2010, when Wade Phillips was let go after Week 9 due to a dismal 1-7 start. Talking about it, Jones said:
“I’ve changed coaches in the season with Wade and have always regretted it. As a matter of fact, I made a change with Chan Gailey after two years. I regretted that. That’s not enough. You need to give yourself a chance. I’ve had a lot more rope than that in my time. I haven’t had anybody pull it short on me.”
With starting quarterback Dak Prescott done for the season due to a hamstring injury, the Cowboys are not expected to be in contention to make the playoffs this season. In order to do so, they would need McCarthy to turn around the program like Sanders did for the Buffaloes this season.
