Every week in the NFL offers surprises, but Week 6 was particularly full of them. We recap the action that left some jaws on the floor.

Week 6 of the NFL was full of plenty of surprises as we saw unexpected victories and two undefeated teams fall.

From the current NFL standings to team depth charts to coverage of every game in the 18-week NFL schedule, we have all the news from around the league to keep you up to speed!

49ers and Eagles No Longer Perfect

Both the Niners and Eagles had their perfect records spoiled by the underdogs.

After Deshaun Watson was ruled out and PJ Walker came off Cleveland’s practice squad in his place, the Niners were favored heavily to win.

Injuries plagued the 49ers offense as Brock Purdy crumbled under the circumstances. The game came down to a 41-yard field goal, which Jake Moody missed to end the game in devastating fashion.

The Eagles were taken down by the Jets as a commanding New York defense stifled Jalen Hurts and the offense. Despite playing without their top two cornerbacks in Sauce Gardner and D.J. Reed, the Jets defense excelled as they spoiled the Eagles’ perfect record and rose to .500.

This was the first time the Jets defeated the Eagles in franchise history after 13 matchups.

    Texans Continue To Impress

In another surprising game, the Texans took down the Saints. Houston has continued to turn heads this season as rookie C.J. Stroud has led the team to several impressive wins.

Stroud threw for 199 yards and two touchdowns in the win with one interception. While the victory didn’t come easy, and the Texans had to hold on until the final minute, Stroud has continued to shine in his first year in the NFL.

In Week 4, Houston took down the Steelers 30-6. After a narrow loss to the Falcons last week, the Texans showed up to improve to .500 this week.

The Saints were coming off a shutout win against the Patriots, and quarterback Derek Carr said he was “livid” after the loss. Carr completed 32 of 50 passes with one touchdown and an interception and cited the inability of the offense to convert for the loss.

Houston being at .500 through Week 6 was likely not what many were expecting, and it will be interesting to see if they can stun some more teams in their upcoming slate.

    Bengals are Back

As Joe Burrow has struggled early in the season, the Bengals desperately needed a win this week. They were able to find one against the Seahawks.

In the narrow 17-13 victory, Burrow continued to look a bit more like himself as he completed 68.6% of his passes for 185 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. The Bengals defense was the star of the show, as they allowed only one red-zone touchdown on five trips.

While the Bengals still sit at .500, back-to-back wins shows signs of growing momentum. Burrow seems to be settling in and came off a solid game against the Cardinals in Week 5.

The loss was a tough one for the Seahawks, who struggled to convert in the red zone, but their defense was solid as they held the Bengals to 214 yards.

    Commanders Take Down Falcons

Sam Howell had a solid showing as he completed 60.9% of his passes for 151 yards and three touchdowns in the 24-16 victory over the Falcons.

Desmond Ridder struggled as he threw three interceptions in the loss. Two of those INTs came in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach for the Falcons.

After taking a brutal 40-20 loss to the previously winless Bears in Week 5, the Commanders are seeing a glimmer of hope as they rose to .500 on the season. The team definitely has a win in reach next week as they take on the 1-5 Giants.

    Giants Nearly Upset Bills

Buffalo narrowly held on for the win Sunday night in a game that came down to the final minutes.

The Giants shut out the Bills through the first three quarters before Josh Allen connected with Deonte Harty for a touchdown. The Giants were held to a field goal on their following possession but maintained a 9-7 lead.

Allen hit Quintin Morris for another touchdown and the lead. The Giants were able to drive down the field in the final minutes of the game but were unable to convert on first-and-goal.
