The winner of the game will take claim to the division title and a top-four seed for the playoffs, while the loser will be relegated to fifth, sixth, or seventh in the conference at best, making a potential postseason path that much more difficult.
A clash between the AFC South rival Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts could have crucial implications in the teams’ respective playoff races as well. Houston and Indianapolis are right in the thick of the race for playoff spots and could significantly boost their postseason odds with a win.
Not to mention the division-leading Jacksonville Jaguars, which also enter Week 18 at 9-7 amid a three-way tie that will be decided one way or another as Jacksonville faces Tennessee.
Needless to say, there is no shortage of potential drama ready to unfold in the regular season’s final week. By the end of the two-day slate, all 14 playoff qualifiers and their seeding will be determined, finalizing the field of competitors hoping for a chance to win Super Bowl LVIII and lift the Lombardi Trophy.
