The holiday season might be over, but tonight’s Sunday Night Football regular-season finale between the 14-2 Minnesota Vikings and the 14-2 Detroit Lions feels like a gift from above.
Not only will this game decide the fate of the entire NFC North, but it will also be the difference between a No. 1 seed and home-field advantage with a first-round bye in the playoffs and a No. 5 Wild Card team going on the road next week.
The best part (when you’re looking at props, that is!)? It features two of the league’s best offenses — and most gettable defenses.
Just last Monday, we watched the Lions put up 40 points on the San Francisco 49ers (while allowing 34…!) in a game that featured 10 touchdowns and no punts. Yes, you heard us correctly: 10 touchdowns and no punts.
Not to be diminished, the Vikings are one of the hottest teams in the NFL going into the playoffs and are averaging close to 30 points per game over their last five outings.
The over has been passed in these two teams’ last six meetings (freebie!), and the current O/U is 56.5. Thus, we are pounding overs in this game. Okay, enough about the matchup; let’s get to some bets.
Best Sunday Night Football Player Props and Betting Lines
Jahmyr Gibbs | Over 90 Rush Yards (-115), Over 125 Rush + Reception Yards (-125)
With David Montgomery out, it’s been all Jahmyr Gibbs over the last two weeks. He’s seen 22+ touches in both of the last two games and has delivered 154 and 162 total yards, respectively, in them. We see absolutely no reason this will change tonight in this must-win game.
Jameson Williams | Over 4.5 Receptions (+125), Over 59.5 Yards (-120)
The gamble on Jameson Williams is finally paying off for Detroit, as the Alabama standout wide receiver is not only a big play waiting to happen, but he’s also established a consistent floor.
Williams has over five catches in five of his last six games and has gone over 60 yards receiving in four of them. At this rate, over 4.5 receptions at plus money is a beautiful thing.
Jordan Addison | Over 5.5 Receptions (-115), Over 67.5 Yards (-115)
Jordan Addison has officially arrived this season, especially as of late, averaging over six receptions and 86 receiving yards per game over his last six games. With Justin Jefferson commanding much of every defense’s attention, there will be plenty of room for Addison to eat tonight.
He might even be our play of the night.
Sam LaPorta | Over 4.5 Receptions (-115), Over 51.5 Yards (-110)
In his last four games, Sam LaPorta has been money in the bank. The second-year stud tight end has 4+ catches in each of his last four games, with a minimum of 43 yards (maximum of 111!) yards in that span.
This feels like a lock for a catches + yards parlay, especially if you tease them both down a bit.
Justin Jefferson | Over 6.5 Receptions (-155)
Jefferson is the model of consistency. Every game, no matter where, no matter the opponent.
He has 7+ catches in all of the last five games, and his lowest yardage total is 92 receiving yards. Jefferson guy is the definition of a mortal lock week in and week out, and we love him tonight vs. the ailing Lions defense.
Favorite Parlay (+182)
- Jared Goff, 1.5+ Pass TD
- Sam Darnold, 1.5+ Pass TD
- Justin Jefferson O6.5 REC
Both Goff and Darnold have thrown more than 2+ Passing TDs in 12 of 16 games this season. Meanwhile, as mentioned, Jefferson has gone over seven receptions in each of the last five games. Don’t get cute here — lock it in.
