NFL Weather Forecast & Report Week 15: Any snow looming?

With fantasy football championship berths on the line, the Week 15 NFL weather forecast could be pivotal in your chances of advancing. With the days getting shorter and colder, the odds of poor weather reports for NFL games increase for Week 15. As with tradition, we break down the slate and see what the NFL weather forecast and report will look like for Week 15 and how it might impact your fantasy football team.

NFL Weather Forecast and Report, Week 15

Surely, the third week of December is going to bring some bad weather, right? I mean, there are parts of the United States with nearly three feet of snow right now.

Actually, no. Week 15 is going to be another clean week from a weather aspect. This 2020 season has been hard enough for fantasy. The last thing we need right now is it interjecting itself like that drunk relative at the holiday dinner who lights your decorations on fire. Or the one who pulls their RV in the driveway and empties their chemical toilet into the storm sewer because it was full.

I know the holidays are going to be a bit weird for all of us. I hope this holiday season you can enjoy the family you have around you, wherever they are. And maybe, just maybe, you might get a fantasy championship gift this year.

Please note that all times are eastern standard time, and the NFL Week 15 weather report will be updated if any changes happen from the time of writing this up to kickoff. The NFL weather forecast for Week 15 is based on reports from the National Weather Service. All lines are from William Hill Sportsbook.

    No Weather Report/Forecast

    Indoor Games in Week 15

Because these NFL games are indoors, the weather conditions can be controlled, and as such, the only forecast and reports are that it will be optimal playing conditions for these teams. The passing and kicking game will not be affected.

Worry-Free NFL Weather Forecasts for Week 15: Early Afternoon Slate

Seattle Seahawks -6.5 at Washington Football Team (43.5 o/u)
    Sunday 1:00 PM ET

While Tyler Lockett is technically a WR1 (WR10), he isn’t that every week. Yes, D.K. Metcalf commands his own share, but Lockett has been disappointing outside of a few games in 2020.

In three games against the Cardinals and Cowboys, Lockett has 42 targets, 33 receptions, 367 yards, and seven touchdowns. During those three games, he scored 117.7 PPR points or 37.23 ppg.

In his other 10 games, Lockett averages 6.4 targets, 4.8 receptions, 50.9 yards, and has just one touchdown. Lockett’s average in those games is 10 PPR points per game. Of his 217.6 PPR points in 2020, 46% came in three games. You play him as a mid-WR2 due to the upside, but he should not be relied on for monster games. They can happen, but I don’t think this is the matchup to expect it.

When looking at the Week 15 weather report for the Seahawks vs. Washington game, expect 43-degree temperatures, six mph winds, and mostly cloudy skies.

Official Monkey Knife Fight play: DK Metcalf, Terry McLaurin, and Tyler Lockett to have more than 18.5 catches in the Reception Connection contest.

New England Patriots at Miami Dolphins -1.5 (41.5 o/u)
    Sunday 1:00 PM ET

Do you want to know how it is 2020? It’s Week 15, and the Dolphins are not only favorites but also have better odds of making the playoffs than the Patriots. Here is another fun fact. Cam Newton not only leads his team in red zone rushing attempts (40 to 41 combined), but his 11 rushing TDs are tied with Dalvin Cook for the most inside the 20-yard line. Newton has scored on 27.5% of his rushing attempts in the red zone.

Expect 77-degree temperatures, eight mph winds, and sunny skies in Miami for the weather forecast in Week 15.

Jacksonville Jaguars at Baltimore Ravens -13 (48 o/u)
    Sunday 1:00 PM ET

Don’t look now, but Lamar Jackson might be turning into form as the playoffs approach. His 208 rushing yards in his last two games are a great sign he has his confidence back and is not some number two version of himself. The Jaguars have allowed a league-high 28 passing TDs and are one of the best matchups to run against in the NFL. The only way Jackson puts up a stinker is if he chooses to.

When looking at the NFL weather report, look for cloudy skies, six mph winds, and 43-degree temperatures.

Official Monkey Knife Fight play: James Robinson and J.K. Dobbins for more than 157.5 rushing yards in the Rush Hour Contest.

Detroit Lions at Tennessee Titans -9.5 (53 o/u)
    Sunday 1:00 PM ET

The biggest question mark on this game from a fantasy standpoint is the health of Matthew Stafford. It sounds like he will gut it out and play, but it remains to be seen how effective he will be or how quickly the team could pull him. The one certain thing is how much of a smash play Derrick Henry is in Week 15. I hope you are not facing him in fantasy this week.

The NFL’s rushing leader gets the best matchup possible. No team in the NFL has given up more fantasy points to running backs than the Detroit Lions at 31.20. They’ve seen the fourth-most carries (24.5 per game) and have allowed 4.57 yards per carry (seventh-most). They have also allowed a touchdown every 19.9 carries (second-most), 6.92 yards per target (second-most), and 1.90 PPR points per target (most in NFL).

Additionally, they have allowed a league-high 23 touchdowns to running backs. Henry is coming off a 222-total yards game in Week 14, which was the sixth time since 2019 that he has eclipsed 150 yards or more in the regular season.

The weather in Nashville won’t slow Henry down either. Expect five-degree temperatures, mostly sunny skies, and five mph winds for the Week 15 weather forecast in the Lions at Titans game.

Official Monkey Knife Fight play: Derrick Henry and D’Andre Swift for more than 178.5 rushing yards in the Rush Hour Contest.

Sunday Night Football: Worry-Free NFL Weather

Cleveland Browns -6.5 at New York Giants (44 o/u)
    Sunday 8:20 PM ET

Colt McCoy will be under center for the New York Giants, and I want nothing to do with this offense if I can help it for fantasy in Week 15. Wayne Gallman is a possible play. Week 14 was the first time since Week 6 he wasn’t a top-16 RB in fantasy. Given the lack of potential scoring opportunities, he is a low-end RB2 for me in fantasy this week.

Expect 36-degree temperatures, mostly skies, and three mph winds for the Week 15 weather forecast. There is a 20% chance for some light flurries in the area for kickoff, but they would be gone before the quarter is over.

Monday Night Football: NFL Week 15 Weather Report

Pittsburgh Steelers -14.5 at Cincinnati Bengals (40 o/u)
    Monday 8:15 PM ET

The Steelers need to get right and do it fast. After back-to-back losses after starting 11-0, they get their old punching bag in the Cincinnati Bengals. All we can hope for is the Steelers WRs got an early Christmas present and got some new gloves. Man, have they been bad with drops. They have a league-high 35 dropped passes this year. This is a pride game and a good chance to get everyone back into rhythm.

When looking at the NFL weather report, look for mostly cloudy skies, 11 mph winds, and 41-degree temperatures that will feel like the mid-30s.
