After the 2021 season, Davante Adams requested a trade from the Green Bay Packers to play with his college QB Derek Carr on the Las Vegas Raiders. Two years later, his former Packers QB Aaron Rodgers, is recruiting him to the New York Jets, but are the Raiders receptive to making a trade?
Could Davante Adams Get Traded to the Jets?
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that Rodgers has been trying to recruit Adams to the Jets, but the Raiders have no interest in trading their star receiver.

“From what I’m told, the Raiders want to win, believe they can, and have zero plans to trade Davante Adams,” said Rapoport.
While the Raiders have had two consecutive losing seasons since trading for Adams, they finished the season strong with interim head coach Antonio Pierce, going 5-4 in their final nine games.
While Las Vegas has talented players on both sides of the ball, they have a major hole at starting quarterback. However, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported that they’re determined to find a long-term solution at the position this offseason.
“New head coach Antonio Pierce wants to be aggressive in going to get a franchise quarterback, and owner Mark Davis grilled general manager candidates during their search about how potentially you could move up from number 13 to get one,” said Pelissero.
With the Raiders determined to try and be competitive in 2024, starting with upgrading from 2023 fourth-round pick Aidan O’Connell at quarterback, it appears that a reunion between Adams and Rodgers in New York is out of the equation.
While Rodgers may not end his courtship of Adams just yet, the Jets will most likely have to go in a different direction in acquiring a wide receiver to start alongside Garrett Wilson.

Although New York currently has just under $5 million in cap space, this year’s free agency class includes plenty of talented wide receivers, including Tee Higgins, Mike Evans, Michael Pittman Jr., Calvin Ridley, and Marquise Brown to name a few.
Perhaps Rodgers will make another attempt at recruiting Odell Beckham Jr. to the Jets before the talented WR decided to sign with the Baltimore Ravens last offseason.
