Thanksgiving NFL Game Matchups, Times, and How To Watch
- Bills vs. Lions
- Time: 12:30 p.m. ET
- Channel: CBS
- Live Stream: CBS All-Access, Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV
The second game for the Buffalo Bills at Ford Field in as many weeks sees Buffalo on Thanksgiving for the third time in the past four years. When playing the Lions on Thanksgiving, though, the Bills have yet to earn a win. However, these are very different teams since the last meetup in 1994.
MORE: Why Do the Lions Play on Thanksgiving?
Buffalo has struggled overall lately, ending a two-game skid in a closer-than-expected game against the Cleveland Browns in Week 11. Meanwhile, the Lions have been playing some of the most inspired football of the season, hoping to push Detroit’s win streak to five. A Bills loss seems entirely out of the question, but Detroit should cover and keep it close, at the very least.
- Giants vs. Cowboys
- Time: 4:30 p.m. ET
- Channel: FOX
- Live Stream: Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV, FOX Now
What about a Thanksgiving divisional showdown? Well, that’s what the NFL has in store for the league in the second of three NFL Thanksgiving games. For just the second time in NFL history and the first time since 1992, the NFC East showdown between the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys will go down on Turkey Day.
Dallas and Washington have gone head-to-head on Thanksgiving eight times, the most games between NFC East opponents. The Giants game in 2022 means the Cowboys have faced New York and Philadelphia twice each on Thanksgiving in NFL history.
The Cowboys demolished the Vikings a week ago. With the Giants reeling from a rough loss to the Lions, can Dallas take a one-game lead on New York as they continue to chase the Eagles? Both teams have been susceptible to the rush, but Tony Pollard’s performance a week ago should concern New York.
- Patriots vs. Vikings
- Time: 8:20 p.m. ET
- Channel: NBC
- Live Stream: NBC Sports, Peacock TV
The final Thanksgiving game of the day may not instill the most faith in Vikings fans as Kirk Cousins is forced to play in prime time. Last week’s 40-3 shellacking from the Cowboys brought the 8-1 Vikings back to Earth, ending a seven-game winning streak. Minnesota went away from their bread and butter, running the football. Dalvin Cook had just 11 touches, and the team had 17 rush attempts.
Don’t expect Minnesota to be held out of the end zone in back-to-back weeks. However, while the offense was a letdown, the defense has been problematic all season.
The Patriots are the second-worst red-zone offense in the league, yet they face off against the NFL’s worst red-zone defense. The Vikings allowed red-zone touchdowns a staggering 71% of the time.
If Kevin O’Connell can manipulate the game script in Minnesota’s favor, forcing Mac Jones to keep up with the high-octane Vikings offense will likely result in some turnovers and stalled drives. Then again, if Minnesota lets New England run the ball down their throat and eat the clock, the Vikings are in for a long and embarrassing night.
