The NFL‘s “International Series” begins this week with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Atlanta Falcons playing in London at Wembley Stadium. This is the first of five games played in Europe this season, with three in England and two in Germany.
The game starts at 9:30 a.m. ET and will be shown on ESPN+ on Sunday. Disney+ will have an alternate broadcast where each player will have an animated representation of a traditional-looking field catered to the “Toy Story” setting.

How Many Times Have the Jaguars Played at Wembley Stadium?
This is the Jaguars’ ninth time playing at Wembley Stadium. They have a 3-5 record in the first eight contests. The team played another game in London, a win against the Miami Dolphins at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2021.
Jacksonville has played a league-high nine times in London, and this week’s game is the first of two this season. The team will stay in London and play Week 5 against the Buffalo Bills at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
How Many Games Have the Falcons Played in London?
This will be the Falcons’ third regular-season game ever in London. The team defeated the New York Jets at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2021 and lost to the Detroit Lions at Wembley Stadium in 2014.
What Is Wembley Stadium’s History?
The NFL is playing a game at Wembley Stadium for the 25th time. The first game was in October 2007, when the New York Giants defeated the Miami Dolphins. Giants quarterback Eli Manning scored the first touchdown on a 10-yard run.

The original Wembley Stadium opened in 1923 and was used until 2003 before being torn down to make room for a new stadium. The original Wembley Stadium was home to the 1948 Olympics, the 1966 World Cup Final, and several legendary concerts, including Queen, Madonna, and Michael Jackson.
The current stadium opened in 2007 and can host over 90,000 fans. Wembley Stadium is home to the England national soccer team and hosts a number of significant soccer matches.
Calvin Ridley Faces His Old Team
Jaguars wide receiver Calvin Ridley will face the team that drafted him in the first round in 2018. He had 248 catches and 28 touchdowns in 49 games in Atlanta before stepping away from the team in 2021 because of his mental health. Ridley was suspended for the 2022 season for violating the league’s gambling policy.
Ridley was traded to Jacksonville while serving his suspension last season for two draft picks. He has 13 catches and a touchdown in his first three games with Jacksonville.
