NFL Team Over/Under Standings Week 13: Will the Cowboys, Lions, and Colts Be Involved in Another High-Scoring Contest?

    Published on

What are the over and under records for each team entering Week 13, and which teams see the over or under hit most frequently in their games?

We’ve started to see a bounce back in NFL game totals trending towards more overs after we saw unders hitting at a record rate earlier in the season. With only 10 teams having seen more overs than unders this season, let’s take a look at the over-and-under standings for all 32 teams in the 2023 season and what NFL betting decisions we may be able to make in Week 13 based on them.

Which Teams Are Involved in Higher and Lower Scoring Games Than Expected?

We now have three teams atop the over-and-under standings for the 2023 season. The Cowboys, Colts, and Lions have all seen the over hit seven times, compared to four games going under. Meanwhile, the Steelers have seen just two of their 11 games go over this season due to a combination of strong defense and mediocre offensive performances.

Dallas heads into their Week 13 game having seen the over hit in four of the last five and five of the last seven. The main thing preventing that being five in a row was an ineffective offensive performance from the Panthers in Week 11. With Seattle having averaged just 14.5 points in the past two weeks, that could be a concern this week with the game total sitting at 47.

Indianapolis broke a two-game streak of seeing their games go under last week against the Buccaneers. The game only just squeaked over by two points, and now they face a mediocre Titans offense that scored just 16 points the last time these teams met. With a total in the low 40s, it’s hard to back the under, yet still tough to believe this game definitively goes over.

The Lions stumbled last week against the Packers, but the total still went over for their third over in a row. That makes it four overs in the last five and six in the last eight. This week, Detroit’s total sits at 46 against a New Orleans offense that has numerous injury woes. The Lions may have to do the bulk of the offense in this game if the over is to hit.

As for Pittsburgh, they face Arizona this week in what has the feeling of a low-scoring game about it. The Cardinals have scored over 20 points just twice in the last nine games and have averaged 15 points in the past two weeks. Meanwhile, the Steelers are averaging just 13 points per game in the last two weeks. It’s hard to see this game going over 41.
