The NFL is back to its regular schedule now that Thanksgiving is in the rearview mirror. Three prime-time football games on Thursday were fun, but they also left us wanting more on Sunday. With Week 13 already approaching, it’s becoming clear that the AFC East has several potential Super Bowl contenders.
We’re breaking down the latest 2023 Super Bowl odds in the aftermath of Week 12 and heading into Week 13. Let’s dive into our AFC East-centric breakdown of the Super Bowl odds for the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, and New York Jets.
NFL Super Bowl Odds Heading Into Week 14
We’re here to make sure you’re locking in the best payoffs for all your NFL betting picks. Each franchise has a varying record, but as you can see below, they don’t all offer the same betting odds. Our friends at DraftKings Sportsbook are my go-to, thanks to their favorable odds and betting options.
For example, a $100 bet on the team with the best Super Bowl odds — Buffalo at +300 — would pay a $300 profit if they win Super Bowl LVII. Let’s take a look at the latest 2023 NFL Super Bowl odds and break down the teams whose odds present the best value.
San Francisco 49ers (+1200)
Well, Week 13 was quite the strange one for the San Francisco 49ers. Despite losing quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo for the season as he broke his ankle after attempting only four passes, the 49ers walloped a very good Dolphins team, 33-17. San Francisco’s defense thwarted Miami’s dangerous offense despite giving up a 75-yard touchdown on the first play.
Backup rookie quarterback Brock Purdy stepped in for Garoppolo and played admirably despite having arguably the weakest arm among NFL starters. He filled his role within Kyle Shanahan’s offense, which is the most important thing for Shanahan’s criteria for quarterbacks. This is why Garoppolo has continued to be a solid starter despite his own limitations.
This was also a breakout Christian McCaffrey performance. McCaffrey tortured Miami with 146 total yards and one touchdown. He led the 49ers in receptions and carries. San Francisco needs to be careful not to overload McCaffrey as the season progresses, but he’s there when they need him most.

49ers linebacker Fred Warner also showed off why he’s an All-Pro candidate every season. His ability to drop into coverage completely changed how Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa could play. Miami had an off-day without both starting offensive tackles, but make no mistake that San Francisco had the unique ingredients needed to disrupt this offense.
Shanahan will need to make a decision with Baker Mayfield unexpectedly coming available. Though Mayfield was horrible with the Carolina Panthers, his pedigree and potential to add some playmaking to the offense could be intriguing. Did Carolina release Mayfield with the expectation he’ll land in the Bay Area?
It would make sense to at least add Mayfield as a backup to Purdy since this roster is otherwise good enough to win the Super Bowl. While I think Purdy is the better option because he can be efficient, keep the offense in rhythm, and know his role, Mayfield is undoubtedly more talented. This will be a potentially huge storyline to watch unfold.
Cincinnati Bengals (+1200)
The rematch of the last season’s AFC Championship game didn’t disappoint. The Bengals again outlasted the Kansas City Chiefs thanks to quarterback Joe Burrow’s heroics and a stout defensive showing. Cincinnati shut out the Chiefs 10-0 in the fourth quarter after the Chiefs took a 24-17 lead in the third quarter.
I said a few weeks ago that the Bengals were rising after a slow start to the season. There’s no mistaking it now that Cincinnati should be considered an AFC elite if they weren’t before. I think it’s even a mistake to list any team besides Kansas City above them in your AFC Super Bowl contenders lists.

The return of Ja’Marr Chase made an obvious difference in this battle. He caught seven-of-eight targets for 97 yards, and the Chiefs simply lack an answer for his individual talent. Kansas City’s choice to let cornerback Charvarius Ward has continued to haunt them this season and will be a factor at some point in the playoffs.
Burrow picked apart this defense with excellent efficiency, completing 25-of-31 attempts for 286 yards, two touchdowns, and taking only one sack. It was a nightmarish showing for the Chiefs, who were also burned by backup running back Samajae Perine as Joe Mixon missed the game with a concussion. Perine was more than ready for the moment, producing 154 total yards on 27 touches.
The fact we still can get the Bengals at solid odds to win the Super Bowl is a minor miracle. This is my favorite Super Bowl odds bet available on the board at this point of the season.
Seattle Seahawks (+4000)
It wasn’t pretty, but Seattle’s 27-23 win against the Rams may have saved their playoff hopes. Losing back-to-back games against Tampa Bay and Las Vegas left this team at risk of dropping to .500 had they lost once again. Instead, Geno Smith connected with receiver D.K. Metcalf for the game-winning eight-yard touchdown with 36 seconds left on the clock.
The Rams really had no business being in this game, considering they were without Matthew Stafford, Aaron Donald, Cooper Kupp, and Allen Robinson. Third-string quarterback John Wolford and receiver Tutu Atwell nearly pulled off the upset, though. Cam Akers even became relevant as he rushed for 60 yards and two touchdowns.

Seattle isn’t a serious Super Bowl contender, but their wondrous year continues with a real chance of playing in the postseason. Smith threw for 367 yards and overcame a limited running game, putting on a passing display with Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. The Seahawks offense has become one of the most entertaining in the league with Geno under center.
It was also notable to see rookie cornerback Tariq Woolen intercept his sixth pass of the season. Woolen was an intriguing prospect due to his size but was raw in coverage and soft in run support at UTSA. He’s been a magnificent ballhawk thus far, as the Seahawks have done well to keep his eyes on the quarterback through scheme and improved technique.
