    Published on

NFL fans ended up having their mornings and afternoons disrupted due to NFL Sunday Ticket. What happened that caused fans to react?

Fans who rely on NFL Sunday Ticket were given an unexpected dilemma in Week 8. And those fans took to social media asking what went wrong, plus some put the digital service on blast.

What Happened to NFL Sunday Ticket?

Fans who relied on YouTube for the Sunday Ticket experience for NFL games unfortunately dealt with lag.

Lagging internet service, buffering issues, problems loading right away — any issues that involved a slow internet service surfaced for NFL Sunday Ticket.

YouTube became the official owner of NFL Sunday Ticket ahead of 2023. Eight weeks into the season, this is the first such issue that has surfaced.

YouTube TV has yet to make a statement regarding the issues. But the fans who rely on the service were out in full force online.

Fans Question and Panic at NFL Sunday Ticket Service

For some fans, they believed it wasn’t the internet connection that caused the issues.

“Anyone else having issues with Sunday Ticket? Mine keeps freezing and loading, but everything else is working so it isn’t my internet,” one fan asked on X (formerly known as Twitter).

One fan, though, claimed they were experiencing buffer issues.

“What’s with all the buffering issues today on @YouTube #SundayTicket??? Have plenty of bandwidth on Speed test. Can’t even load a multi view,” the fan posted.

Another fan, however, went after YouTube with a complaint.

“YouTube TV, can you acknowledge the issues with NFL Sunday Ticket and advise what is going on? You charge way too much to have any of this happen,” the fan stated.

Even NFL players with the Sunday off ended up becoming disappointed and vocal customers. Buffalo Bills defensive tackle DaQuan Jones, whose team held on for the Thursday Night Football win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was disappointed in the Sunday Ticket service.

“You pay all this money for streaming services…just so they don’t work on the days you actually need them,” Jones said.

The issues came about for the early-afternoon games. Some fans stated online that they were trying to stream the Los Angeles Rams and Dallas Cowboys matchup.

As of 1:53 p.m. ET, YouTube managed to address the connection concerns by releasing a statement through its X account.

“If you’re experiencing buffering issues on YouTube our team is aware and working on a fix. YouTube TV or NFL Sunday Ticket may also be impacted. we’ll follow-up here once this has been resolved,” YouTube shared.
